He's the worst person I've ever work with. He asked for all the money upfront. We ended up giving him 50% upfront. He came in completed half the job and left, promising to come back the next day. He never came back, day after day he had one and a million excuses why he couldn't show up. We had to have many difficult phone calls with him, asking, demanding and even begging for him to come back and complete the job. He finally came back about 3 weeks later and even then didn't fully complete the job. He left a lot of garbage behind, he splashed all my windows and made a mess all the way around my house and did a terrible job. I would never recommend him and never want to see him again. He doesn't even deserve the one star.

Comments: Buyer beware!! Money stolen. I was accepting bids for a basement remodel. The company gave us a competitive bid and we accepted. The Taka crew began working on the project. We started communicating with Den (Owner of Taka Concrete). Work started immediately and we were initially pleased with the progress.

During this time Den requested money multiple times for the work. At one point he required a bigger amount that was required for the Kitchen. He said that this would be installed the following week. Around the beginning of January of 2020, all worked stopped. Workers came by the house in mid February, we were told there was a delay and they proceeded to collect their tools and left.

Over the remaining year I had been in constant correspondence with Den to complete the job. The biggest and most glaring issue we have experienced, is that multiple promises were made to work on the project, which were not kept, and our money was stolen. This has caused a great deal of Anxiety for my family and I, as we were looking forward to having the additional finished space to use. Also I have paid Den a great deal of money which took me several years to save for this project. I will be taking him to court!!

Comments: I will give my honest review on working with Taka Concrete. In the end, they made it right and finished the job which we are happy with but the road to get there was longer than agreed and hard. I think the scale of the project was too much and the logistics, organization and professionalism was lacking. Our project included electrical wiring, turf installation, irrigation, fire pit installation, raised flower bed installation, stone work and a large area of stamped, stained and sealed concrete with stairs coming down the on side of our sloped home connecting to our driveway- it was a huge project. Maybe we went into it with unrealistic expectations of a time frame and a budget and that created many confrontations but in the end the job is done and it looks beautiful.

Comments: I would not deal with this company again, poor workmanship, damage to garage door when old driveway dug up , 3 dents in door (damage denied by Den) 2x2 door trim broke in half we fixed it ourseves. Front door and door threshold damaged and scratched. Our contract was signed May 8 th worked started Mary 9 th and was to take 8 Days. We paid Den 3/4 of the money up front , he then asked for 3,000 more when he poured the cement on May 22 since things were going well at this point and we only owed 2,000 more we gave him full payment, from there it went down hill, at least 25 no call no show appointments with Den and crew.( I may have missed a few and this is no Exageration). Nor do I lie. I started small claims court action at the middle of August, again Den asking us to ne patient he promised he would be there sat the end of the week oh surprise surprise no call no show after multiple chances to finish the project started finally I fired him om October 8 th as again no call no show , responded they would be there the next day oh surprise surprise no call no show againI also communicated on Oct 9th that he could either refund the last 5,000 we paid him back in May or I would be calling no for bids on Monday and asking for the full amount allowed in small claims court .Finally six months later the project is complete however the shoddy work lack of communication, ethics and morals is appalling 6 months for an 8 day job and Blane it on the weather and lack of staff is not acceptable. I would be happy to share all my attempts at communication with this company and their response of no call no show. We got no deal we paid for everything we contracted for. Den says he will be back over the next two years to guarantee his work, I doubt we will ever see him again, I will never pay a contractor ahead again live and learn. I will also be reporting him to the BBB.

All the claim You put in here are not right .We put up everything per Our contract , poured concrete , finished the beautiful stamp concrete and installed everything according to Our contract And I finished all the pour within a month per Our contract . The only thing that We couldn’t finish was the railing and according to Our contract , You are the one that Supply the Railing and We install it . You didn’t get the railing right and we had to wait for You For a month . Long story short , We installed Your railing and it went well except some of the bolt came with the railing were not right and we corrected it . Last time I met with You , We went through tint to the garage door which is a new tint that I had no knowledge . After we finish the job in July , You called me and I came up looking at this Tint at the Garage door and I told You the this is not caused by Us which is clearly shown at the Garage door . You had contractors working at Your house after us and I honestly don’t believe that the tint to the Garage door was damaged by Us or Our Machine which if it was caused by Our Machine it would had been worse than that. Lastly , We finished Our Job per Our contract , up to the clean up process and now You put this negative reviews ? We finished Your job 100% perfect and You are still not satisfy , I don’t know why You put this bias reviews here . There is a limit of Everything We do according to the contract we performed and You can’t expect Us to keep doing everything and beyond for free . Comments: I hired Den in December of 2019, told me he will do a great job. I asked if the weather is ok to pour concrete now, he said we work all seasons with no problem, I trusted him and started the job. His crew did a lot of short cuts that I have to direct them and even I have to call Den many times to direct his people. They broke my drain at the drop spot while taking old concrete out - which he never fixed instead they covered it with concrete. I told Den to fix it, he said he will and he said he is going to show me a picture , which he never did. I signed the contract to include exposed aggregated finish, but he gave me a broom finished. When they finished they left me with numerous issues: they left me with uneven concrete to my front door, uneven concrete in front of my garage door which collects water and gets into my garage when it rains, they blocked my drain drop spot from my gutter without directing it away from the house which causes water to go into my garage as well, uneven concrete on the patio that collects water When it rains, unfinished curve that needs to be done in between my neighbors that needs to be done immediately because it causes extreme flooding into their driveway, i have to rush to get a lots of sands from Lowe’s to hold the flooding water.

I told Den please come and do something about it, he sent his guy to place a temporary drain and told me he will come and will fish everything. He asked me to give him $500.00 to buy the materials to finish and that was the day before Christmas , I gave him the money, the next day he text me and said he is waiting for his guys at Home Depot, he stated I have the materials but they aren’t here yet I can’t do the job without them. Finally he told me his crew is on vacation, that They are with their family and we will do it after new year, I said ok - since then he never come back. We exchanged many text , he makes an excuse about the weather, I have been patient for the last 5 months he said he will come In April, never did, then May, then, the second week of June.I texted him that this is the second week of June and what his plans are ? he extended to July, Then to August, September now it is October never showed up. I am unhappy that he left me with lots of messes. The Concret looks old with stains and multiple cracks, it is only 10 months old. I just can’t imagine how it will look like in the next months . Will never recommend him to do the job. I have all his text. I can copy and paste if he wants too. From now on I will have my lawyer to deal with him.

Nigisty , This is not right .We finished Your job from the back to the front according to the contract withing a week from the day we started your job . You Called us in Dec 2019 and We pour the concrete in the same week . We pour 4” thick of concrete , installed wiremess , installed expansion joint from the back to the front . There were some low spot in the front and we fixed that . There are some area that has minor Low spot and if we try to put overpayment concrete , overtime it would be come off and make it looks like patch work and ugly . We installed a drain Pipe along the side for the down spout drain to go . We didn’t contract to install a curbing along the side of the driveway. We only install what We contracted to do and with the price You we’re willing to pay . I also advised You that concrete will always crack and I have no control over that . All I had done was install everything that we contracted to do that will help to minimize the crack but not prevent cracking .

Comments: I posted an earlier review of Taka Concrete and was very flattering to them. That was done not long after they completed the job. Within the first two weeks, we began to notice cracks running the entire width of the driveway. At first it was only a couple of cracks and then many, many more. We reached out to Den on 4 occasions and each time he said that they would be out the following week to fix. Today is the 4th time he was supposed to show up and today was the 4th time he did not show. No phone call, no text, nothing. Each time he was supposed to be here, I spent the morning moving vehicles and cleaning the driveway to give him an opportunity to do his fix. Today was the last straw. I can no longer recommend this company.

After installing a beautiful job for this Customer, There were some hair cracking in the concrete which I told This Customer that concrete would always crack no matter, Concrete will always crack period and it is just a hair crack which is not a major issue due to reinforcement would hold concrete together and would not become worse than expected . I was willing to help him out but due to weather and had asked this Customer if I could try to fix the hair crack until next Year and insisted that I should fix it if not he would change his mind and put negative review on my Company . I urge any Customers who read this issues of hair cracking on concrete . Let me be honest with You , if You want to install concrete and expect no crack on your concrete job , You are fooling Yourself . Concrete will always crack whether it happen the very next day after pour or 10 yrs after pour , concrete will crack . Go and find asphalt company to install asphalt instead of concrete otherwise you would be like these customers who complain about concrete cracking .

Comments: There are multiple issues with the work that was done. Some was okay, others not so okay. The biggest issue was/is the driveway.It broke into 2 pieces on the 4th day after pouring. It broke again into a total of 3 pieces at the end of the first week. Keep in mind that the concrete had no traffic of any kind at that point. I noticed it was now broken in 2 more places. These breaks go completely through the concrete are not hair-line cracks. Naturally Taka has not returned any calls. So buyer beware. I'm already having to look for another contractor to see if the driveway can be saved. Terrible workmanship. Poor customer service.

Takaconcrete did a Beautiful job for this Customer, job was not on Time due to weather and delayed in my previous job , no excuse on my part , It was a Brush finish job that I charged this Customer so I ended up gave her $8000 worth of Texture colors with Border and sealer , for free due to late in my Schachule . We installed wiremess , compacted gravel and 4” thick of concrete , 6 sack 3000 psi and cut the expansion all over the whole driveway . I installed everything to minimize cracking but not to stop cracking . If Anyone who want concrete to be installed and expect no cracking on Your Driveway or patio , I would be lying to You that concrete won’t crack . Honestly , concrete will crack no matter how hard you try to avoid . I gave this Customer everything and more they could ask for , what’s not fare , cracking of concrete discredit everything I gave her . As far as Contact her , I returned every text or phone call she did To me , not right away but in timely manner . To say that I didn’t return phone call, that’s an understatement and lying . We did our very best and gave her more work for free , she still not satisfy and unfare what she put here . Please go see for yourself what a beautiful job we gave her . Unfortunately, cracking happen and it is better to leave it as it is the cracking than trying to fix it . It will make it worse . Comments: I'd like to be writing a nice review of Taka Concrete, but, unfortunately, Den and crew are way below average in workmanship and follow through. Our project began in early June. Numerous delays, many excuses, inferior work, poor planning and poor execution. To this day, mid-September, the project is not finished, abandoned by Taka Concrete. We have now hired another company to finish the project and correct Taka Concrete's inferior product.
Den talks a nice story, but his follow through is poor. His crew is less than enthusiastic and their work shows it. Much of the first pour had to be ripped out and re-poured. A large planter box/wall was finished in the wrong color, so "finished" isn't the correct term here. Den will set dates and times, but frequently those come and go with no action or communication.
Taka Concrete has proven itself to be a one star company. In hind sight, I regret hiring them!

Al , You go too far in Your review here and it is far from the facts . First , We started the job and ran smoothly and Weather was one of the factors that delayed the pour of your project and You are not the only one complaining about delaying . After we did the excavation , according to Our written contract , Your Wife came up with many changes over 10 times to the form we installed and also to the finish we agreed per contract . Nothing charged For all those changing . We took 6 load of Dirt and broken concrete because You wanted us to dig below the original grade to be the same level as the street and we did that for free of charge . We poured concrete You didn’t like the finish so We removed and redid that for You , no charge . We poured again , add colors ( no charge ) and You liked the outcome . We add colors to the concrete for the wall , you wanted to add more colors after pour and The concrete colors on the wall is slightly different . We finished pour your concrete except the wall that you needed again to recolour . Some area that needed touch up and we were still committed to do those minor correction . You wanted sealer and acid wash the exposed concrete mix with light brush finish which is different from the original contract . Al , not only that You took advantages of Us in so many changes and we did that for free , when you wrote lately demanding to make those correction with Words , incompetent, and threaten to sue Us , report our Company to Federal , State and L&I for no reasons but threatening Our right to do good and run Business in the free Society , You went too far and very unprofessional . For that , I have a reasons to say , enough is enough .

Comments: I hired Taka Concrete on Aug 20, and the work was completed in one day on Sept 1. The big equipment was delivered on August 31 and the crew arrived at my house at 8 AM and got started. Den kept me informed of the timeline, and was always here when he said they would be. When I was told they would be here at 8:00, I really didn’t think they would, but they did. They cleaned up the area and left no trash or concrete debris in my yard or on the sidewalk. They were very careful to prevent concrete that was washed off to expose the aggregate from being washed down the storm drain.

This is not an easy Customer and with due So Respectful for her Disability Its is so hard to communicate well with her , can’t talk over the phone , hardly response to our email , We can’t set the form after removing her little concrete driveway which is a no brainer to set form and after preparation and pour , unfortunately I can’t move without explaining to her in person every details every steps of how we form , how we put gravel , etc , in her own base , before we set form , before we pour the concrete . She doesn’t want to pour without her understand everything which is a struggle for Us but she is our Customer and will try our very best to satisfy her . It is quite an experience with a lots of patience. We are looking forward that she will understand everything we do for the preparation before she will satisfy to pour her concrete , as long as she happy we will be happy . Comments: We are extremely disappointed in the entire process and end results. It started off great, we got along and we thought the crew was friendly. But right after the initial pour it really dropped off. Den stopped communicating with us and stopped showing up for the job. He would tell us the crew would be there on a certain day at a certain time but then not show up, and would not even give us a courtesy call to tell us they wouldn’t be here. We took off several days from work to be here and they never showed. We would have to text him and ask when they were coming back. Sometimes it would take days to hear back from him, and when we did it would be a variety of excuses why they didn’t show. He gave us excuses that COVID shut him down, but this job should have been finished in February before COVID and I have the text messages from back in Feb that says it will be done. There are so many flaws and mistakes, it really is a shame. Half of the patio looks great, but the other half and the steps are terrible. We tried to communicate with Den about fixing it, but we got more excuses. He told us he would come back and fix it but never did. He told us that work was just too busy and he had other jobs. When asked why he accepted new jobs before finishing our job he then replied that he would come fix it in June. We waited and waited, and halfway through July he is still too busy to come fix it.

I wish we could post pictures of the work here, but it won’t let me. Here is a summary of the errors.

He concreted over the drains and now we cannot remove or replace it like we wanted. If we need to access it we will have to chip away at the concrete...and the border is cracking. One day, the last day we saw anyone, the crew tried to remove it and couldn’t. He ended up cracking a chip out of the drain AND a quarter sized chunk from the concrete.

The concrete around one downspout...really bad. It’s not the right color, its a dark gray when the rest of our patio is a lighter tan. It’s not sealed, and it’s already chipping away. And there’s a long crack that goes from the down spout all the way to the paver wall.

These steps are terrible. The color is uneven and too dark, and doesn’t match the rest of the patio. Den patched in dark gray concrete up against the house and it doesn’t match. He got stain and sealant on the house siding, drilled holes in the siding, and there are sealant drip marks. The sealant was brushed on super thick and you can see the brush marks. They look awful.

There is a whole long strip of patio where Den dropped red stain when he was staining the border. He tried to cover it with dark brown stain, but it made it worse. One of the crew came and sanded the red away, but now it’s just gray spots surrounded by dark red and brown.

On the other downspout he concreted over it. If we need to access or remove this for any reason we will have to break up the concrete. It also has a long crack in it.

There are also several significant cracks already.

I’m not sure we can do anything to fix these mistakes. We trusted him when he said it would look great when it was done. If this is the quality of work he is proud to put his name on, then there is no way we can recommend him to others. We had several coworkers and one neighbor that wanted his info. But we can’t recommend him at this point. We’re really sorry it ended this way.

Lesson...never pay in full before you are happy with the end result.

Kelly , I really appreciate your Input here and am sorry that you felt that way . No matter how hard that we tried to satisfy You with the texture finish , colors and sealer , And the work we did ... whatever You felt I don’t try to defend anything , we did our very best as we did to thousands of Customers , not everyone we did our very best could have been satisfy and I can’t do anything about it . I always tell My Customers , We would put 4” thick of concrete , install ribbar for reinforcement , provide 4000 psi 6 sack concrete mix design , and provide all necessary factors to minimize cracking , concrete will always crack, we call it hair cracking , and it never goes bigger that hair crack because ribbars hold concrete together and it never goes anywhere which is a good thing . Cracking is a natural reaction happen when concrete expand and contract , No One control cracking when it happens no matter how hard you try to stop it . I would be dishonest if I would tell you that concrete will never crack . As far as colors , we put two colors combination and the best outcome after the two colors mix was what you agreed and You gave us the Ok to seal it . Once we put the sealer on the concrete , there is no going back to remove the sealer , it could be done but it would compromise the quality of the whole concrete especially if there is a small area as you mentioned that it has a dot of colors ! If you want to find a mistakes in any concrete finish , you will find a few of mistakes Here and there . But if you want to focus on the whole job in General and it’s quality You will find 98% of that job a quality job in any concrete finish I do and most of the Customers who put 5 stars would admit that what I did never was a perfect job but it was an excellent job in General . Lastly , I apologise that Weather and Covid-19 really affect everyone and the quality of our livelyhood . Thanks. Takaconcrete

Comments: We could not be any happier. Our backyard has been an overgrown jungle for years while out kept getting put art the back of the line for other priorities. When Den arrived it was thigh high grass weeds and other debris. His crew cleared the vegetation, hauled away the junk and leveled the ground. They removed the Windser block retaining wall. Then they installed drainage which tied into the houses down spout. Then they replaced the retaining wall for a beautiful raised flower bed. Next the prepared the patio. My step out the sliding glass door is larger and much nicer. I love the natural look of the stamped concrete. The yard looks so fresh and clean and will be a breeze to maintain now. We're so pleased.

I found coffee cups strewn through my yard, cigarette butts in the extra sod and some sort of residue on my house that I had to wash off.
