Comments: I was told my blower motor was bad! Was gone cost 700$ I got it fixed for 40$ and it wasn't my motor
Hi Lena, This is our technician's findings: We arrived 8-16-19, to diagnose why Mrs Wilson’s split HVac system was not blowing cold air when asking for cooling at 76 degrees. We first checked the thermostat and asked for 68 degrees cooling and went to the outside condenser and compressor. The outside condenser and compressor was on and working. However no air flow inside home. We then went up to the attic based furnace/ blower motor/ evaporative coils. We opened the unit and discovered the top insulation above blower motor had dropped down onto top of blower motor. We then decided to check electrical inputs and wiring of which was normal and connected. We then tested the run capacitor for the blower Motor and it read 18.4 uf and is a little Low but ok. We also took a new run capacitor and tried it and the blower motor was buzzing and not turning. The units blower motor has burned up and needs to be replaced. We recommend replacing the blower motor. We stand by our technician's findings that the blower is bad and will eventually go out. A $40 repair is just a band aid fix and you will undoubtedly have problems with this system in the future. Thank you, Mike the Manager
