Comments: George responded to my communications quickly and kindly. Ivan and the work crew were polite and worked hard. They cleaned up the work areas well. The work they did was above my expectations except for not putting a slopped area to get onto my new patio. I feel that all of the positives outweighs that negative.

Work Description: Remove, extend and Replace Concrete Driveway

Comments: The broom finish is a total mess. Not much of the driveway is an actual "broom finish". I asked the foreman to have the guys redo a couple areas, twice, and they still didn't do it properly. It seemed they were inconvenienced by this and the foreman wasn't very helpful in enforcing a decent job either. They let the concrete dry too long before providing the broom finish in certain areas causing these areas to be flat and crumbly. George's response to this when I expressed my opinion of the work that was received - He said it was still curing. Well curing has nothing to do with the mess left from inexperienced finishers! I have sent pictures to George and requested him to take a look at the finish and he hasn't responded - always too busy. So far I have not received any correspondence as to how he will fix this issue. If you are looking to replace your driveway with a consistent broom finish, that looks professionally done, then George is NOT your guy!
I try to leave a smile on every customers face that’s our goal. In this case, the customer insisted that we continue to broom one area of the driveway against our advice and that’s why the one section had a little more aggressive broom finish than the rest of the driveway. Overall the driveway looked great. This is one customer that was impossible to please. I have poured hundreds of driveways with my team and we always have happy customers. As a matter of fact, we are usually praised on professionalism, responsiveness, and the finished product! I scheduled a meeting with this customer and she canceled it. I wish them luck in their future projects.

Comments: I sent a request for a quote online and within an hour George called me to set up a time when he could come and do an estimate. He said he would be here the following day and he was. He also kept me informed by text message and phone calls. The price was reasonable and we started the patio within a few days. I really enjoyed having the crew around for a couple days while they worked on the patio. They were all great guys and incredibly knowledgeable. Their work was spot on and we are excited to enjoy our new patio!! I even got a follow-up call a day after they were done! I've been in customer service my whole life and I get very frustrated when companies treat you like they don't care. Good service, it seems, is rare these days. That is NOT the case with Shumate! They definitely care about their customers, do great work, and I highly recommend them! I have already recommended them to two more people.

Comments: Shumate Construction did an excellent job of removing my old concrete driveway, clearing out tree roots, and replacing it with a new one. They obtained the necessary permits and had a company representative on location at all times. I highly recommend them for doing any concrete work. My driveway looks wonderful!

Comments: I think Shumate Construction is the Best Construction Company doing business in Texas. I had them do a patio for my back yard. The work was professionally done, completed on time and very reasonable in price. I would highly recommend this company for all your construction projects. I like the work they did so well I have already made plans for them to do a few more projects.

Comments: George contacted me right away and came the next day to give me an estimate on the job to be done . He was on time, professional and courteous.
When it came time to do the job he showed up at the scheduled time, explained all that he was going to do and completed the job . He cleaned up the area after finishing as well . I would have them come out for future projects at my home and would highly recommend them. Also the price was fair for the work done .

Comments: I am dissatisfy with the work provided over all .I had back patio enlarge ,it was not as high as I wanted .My yard was mess up , uneven because ground was wet when concrete was poured ,we had to buy grass and replace. They also done a walk way that is too narrow and now uneven.My husband called and called with no respond.I would not recommend. NO integrity
I do my best to satisfy every customer and leave them with a smile on their face. In this case, the customer insisted on using materials that they provided against my advice. The rock they purchased was way too small and was made for a rock wall application not a walkway. I made several visits and answered every call to try and make the best of what they insisted in doing. I offered to replace the sod but the customer insisted on doing it themselves. I did grading free of charge in the back yard to ensure it was uneven and they gave the go ahead for the width of the walkway before it was laid.
