Work Description: drainage issue blacktop drive and siding installation falling off
Comments: Contracted to help with drainage issues on my driveway. Marvin stated he could dig 2 foot deep ditch and install perforated drain line with sock. Yard torn up with Bobcat to install the drainage pipe. After first decent rain, driveway held more water than before. Contacting him, he stated he could then install grating that would resolve. Informed him that there shouldn't have been any issues and would not be offering any additional monies. That is when contact stopped.Several weeks later, a small siding job his crew did at the same time, wind blew siding portion near eve where electric lines enter house down, siding was hanging from electric wires. Sent him pictures and pleaded with him to resolve my issues multiple times with no contact back. Since he obviously recognizes my phone number, never answers or responds to voice mails left. Called from my wife's phone and he answered immediately. Nothing but grief from his workmanship and don't expect resolution, except thru the courts. Hire him at your own risk, beware you're not going to get any follow thru to correct his mistakes.
BEWARE, highly do not recommend this contractor!!

Work Description: Concrete driveway section, entry walk, and front stoop replacement.
Comments: See the other reviews here, on yelp, facebook, etc.... sounds like by those reviews and mine here, that this is the normal course of business for SCS or Street Construction Services.Horrible! BEWARE! See reviews here and also look at their other reviews including facebook page. It appears, in my opinion, what I am about to say in this review is their common SCAM! They gave me an estimate. When the work was partially complete they told me they needed more money to complete the work, pay another crew after firing the first, and needed money to buy more concrete or they couldn't continue. I not only gave them more money because I needed it done, I had to go to Home Depot to buy the concrete for them which was BAGS of concrete for a driveway, front porch, and walk way?? I had to leave around 9pm as they were still working on it and I expressed concerns about them working in the rain and was told, no problem "we will cover the concrete and you will be happy with the end result. The next day I arrived to look at it and it was destroyed. They walked on the wet concrete. Drove a bobcat through the yard when they said no equipment would be in the yard making a muddy mess, they walked on wet concrete leaving boot prints, and the surface of the concrete is destroyed. After sending Marvin several pictures he stated they would come back and fix it the next day. When they didn't show up this time, and several times after, I started looking at reviews and it appears this is a common problem. Now they are saying they will come back but will have to give them more money. Speaking to another reviewer on facebook it sounds like they told him the same thing. Lastly, I received a voicemail that was meant for another customer, saying that their review was Slander and needed taken down. Having read their review, I explained to Marvin that it isn't slander unless it is false. If it is based on the facts, it is called a review and trying to help others not make the same mistakes! Trust me... isn't worth it. However, I will be taking legal action and also filing a claim against their insurance.

Work Description: Marvin Lee Street, doing business as SCS Street Construction Services, replaced 2 concrete steps and some concrete walkway blocks. He had suggested I not have the steps completely removed, saying I could save a lot of money that way. I agreed to a much higher price because I wanted the new steps to last and be done right. He was also supposed to repair cracks in a retaining wall.
Comments: Marvin Lee Street, doing business as SCS Street Construction Services, did not remove the steps because "the concrete is too hard". I paid an additional $400 (above the original price for fully removing the steps) for extra work taking down the "hard" steps, but still they removed less than 1/3 of the steps before placing new concrete over it. SCS tore up my front yard with equipment that he brought in right after a heavy rain and, though they promised to fix it, they never did. The concrete was poured about an hour before a predicted heavy rainstorm that dropped 1.5" of rain. When his men were leaving, I questioned that they had not covered the concrete and they said it was well set and didn't need to be covered. The next morning, there were large holes on the concrete and splatter marks from the rain. The steps were very uneven in height, one being 4.5" and one 7.75". I called to complain. The company came back to repair the damage by putting a "resurfacer" on it. I looked up the exact product they used on the manufacturer's website and it clearly stated that it should be applied in 1/8" depths and additives needed to be used to make it bond with the dry concrete. They applied depths of up to 3" and did not use any additives. They redid the steps, but did not correct the height variances and made them slanted so badly that they were unsafe. Again they did not cover the new concrete, so paw prints were all over it. I had to hire another contractor to completely redo the steps, as they were out of code and thoroughly unsafe to use. I had to hire a landscaper to repair my yard. I had to hire a contractor to repair the retaining wall that I had paid SCS to do but they did not. Though I have a written warranty, it's not worth the paper it is written on.-
