Work Description: Liar and a Scam Artist
Comments: Just like the other reviews—Zach is a liar and fraud. I gave a deposit in 8/2023–waited a month for the job to be done. Excuses galore every single week and countless no shows. By mid 9/2023 I asked for a refund on my deposit. Now almost a full month later, no refund and I have to take legal action. He is by far a fantastic salesman but after he gets your money he gives every reason under the sun why he didn’t show up. He told me he was dropping off a check and then even had an unknown phone number telling me he had the bank send me a check. A week later “he didn’t realize he had to sign it.” He’s a scam artist and a fraud.Ambler PA

Comments: Do not walk away from this company, RUN!!!I hired Zach on January 25th of this year to replace my roof (upper and lower)
Not sure where to begin??? After 3 months of excuses as to why my roof rip and replace kept getting delayed. I mean he had used every single excuse in the book as well as some I had to right down just in case I needed a whopper of a lie!
I stuck with him because he was a family member of one of my neighbors and also he is a very good manipulator and makes you feel sorry for him.
Finally, the work gets ‘done’ around April 1st . That’s is when my nightmare really began. From the work being just all around shotty, I have incurred the following damage.
- New leaks (that were not there before)
- Shingles hanging off on my dormer (still hanging off. He told me he was scared to go up there by himself to fix it 👀)
- Completely clogged the gutters with roofing debris (the gutters that were still intact)
- Water damage to my kitchen (lower roof) The water was pouring down on my cabinets and wrecked my walls and paint.
- Water in my basement due to him not fixing the gutters.
He will promise you over and over again that he is coming out that day to fix these things only to give you more excuses and some crazy story why he couldn’t make it.
He is a pathological liar, not skilled at all, and I’m sure I am not the only one he has done this to.

Comments: Schrum Family Roofing in one word = HORRIBLEI got an estimate from Zach Schrum in the beginning of August 2022. I signed a Contract and paid a deposit to Zach to order materials and get started…From this point forward, NOTHING, and not even being slightly facetious, NOTHING Zach stated was true. From every face-to-face meeting, phone call, and text, NOTHING he said was true or followed through with.
It is November 22nd and I finally had to officially fire Zach Schrum. I have been waiting since August for him to complete a roof job he estimated would date 3-4 days. He made excuse after excuse why he was delaying the work, constantly blaming work crews, and rental material as the issues. He would promise day after day to show up and complete/start work, provide new schedules, etc..., each time, he never showed up, claiming miscommunication…Let me be very clear, Zach NEVER miss communicated, Zach told me things and then just DID NOT do them…that is not miscommunication, that is LYING.
Zach Schrum is the biggest compulsive liar I have ever dealt with.
The only reason I let this go on as long as it did was due to my work travel schedule and ability to be home to get new estimates. Zach begged me to allow him to complete the job and offered to do extra work for free…BUT, all he ever did was tell me he would start work the next day and then never show up. I have never experienced a Contractor who lied and made this many excuses.
I don’t know how Zach has any customers, or even a business. He is by FAR the most incompetent business owner I have ever encountered.
I would stay as FAR AWAY from his business as possible. Even if he quotes jobs for free, I would say NO THANK YOU! WORST CONTRACTOR EVER = Zach Schrum
If I could give less than 1 star, that would be ideal here!
