Comments: My wife and I use independent mom & pop contractors all the time and almost always have great experiences. I really wanted to like Jesse, he was great over the phone and we seemed to hit it off.Unfortunately though, I would absolutely **NOT RECOMMEND** working with Jesse for the following reasons:
1) Jesse does MEDIOCRE work. He completely messed up staining our front door. The finished product is subpar and I wish I had gone with a different contractor.
2) Jesse exaggerates about how qualified he is. He seems incredibly believable on the phone and sells you on his experience. As a result, you think you are paying a 5-star price for a 5-star product. In reality, Jesse delivered a 2-star result but charged me a 5-star price.
3) Jesse has to re-do his low quality work, which results in additional "gotcha" charges. Jesse's first attempt was completely unsuccessful and looked terrible. At that point, Jesse said a second attempt would cost more. I agreed to pay for a second attempt, and even the second attempt resulted in a poor quality job.
4) Jesse's pricing is extremely high. He winds up charging around $100/hour. Jesse was pretty upfront that he wanted to make $200/day after the cost of materials, but what he didn't mention is that he will show up at 11am and work for 2-3 hours including a lunch break.
5) Jesse is very distracted while he works. The first two times he showed up, his wife and kids waited in the car and he had to check on them multiple times. The third time, he brought his dog and rolled down his car window, so his dog jumped out of the car and roamed all over. Jesse had to constantly stop working to look after his dog. On the final visit, Jesse brought his dad who was smoking and left his cigarette butts on the ground.
6) Jesse is completely unreliable on scheduling. Jesse is consistently late when he does show up, and he also rescheduled appointments several times with very short notice. He will text you just an hour beforehand with an excuse on why he can't show up that day, and it will happen multiple times.
7) Jesse is cash-strapped and will ask you to get paid for a portion of the job, before the job is even finished. This payment arrangement isn't something agreed to, he just springs it out of nowhere and it puts you in a very uncomfortable situation.
Before hiring Jesse, I read some of the 1-star ratings below but discounted them. I wish I hadn't done that.
Jesse seems great on the phone but I would absolutely not hire Jesse again and I would **NOT RECOMMEND** him to anyone.

Comments: I have honestly been very disappointed with Jesse. Originally there was no issue fence seemed to go up well and Jesse was very pleasant to work with. However after month the gate he put in started to shift and become unlevel preventing it from closing leading to my dogs getting out at least 2 times. I started calling him in November he blew me off with dates and times until about June. He finally came out made one fix said he would be back the next day to finish. Hasn’t returned a call since. I also just found out he built the gate to 33in instead of 36in meaning I will have to have that redone anyways.Littleton CO

Comments: This is the worst fence build, one gate only opens part way because they reversed the way it opened and it now opens against a sprinkler head. The other double gate is a mess I asked them to come back the day they finished and after to fix it but they did not. They told me all hardware would be new but they repainted my old hardware, and I told them I wanted it built with screws and they assured me that was the standard now but mine is almost all nails. They bought panels instead of putting up pickets one by one, so some were warped. They set the date to start and started way after start date,,,,they came one day and took down all the fence on one side so that my whole yard was exposed as well as my deck and then they were gone again for over a week. They told me it would take a week start to finish when they started. They told me I had a 2 year warranty on their work and they do not even respond to me. The end result is a fence built with nails, not screws, uneven spacing between planks, huge gaps at the bottom to the ground and no way to open gate from the inside! Comments: I’m Laurie’s neighbor (see her 1 star review). We did a joint project with this contractor. The contractor finally remedied Laurie’s gate a few weeks ago, after we waited 6 months for resolution. When we last discussed the final remedy in October, I too was promised timely, the same final remedy (handle/lock access from both sides of the gate) and the hardware had been purchased. When he showed up to finally fix my neighbor’s gate he had the wrong hardware (again) and he said he would not finish my gate because I had not paid him in full and he had to write it off. I paid him 95% of the job and he agreed in October to finish the job so I’d pay the final $20, but he’s the one who didn’t finish the job in the calendar year and strung both of us along. I told him repeatedly I didn’t feel comfortable paying in full because of the difficulties we were having AND because his warranty meant nothing to me if the job isn’t completed. Here I am with a non-functioning gate and an eyesore. I regret bringing my neighbor into this mess and I would not recommend you waste your time with him.Arvada CO

Comments: I went in with a neighbor to get gates adjoining gates repaired/replaced so they would match from the street view. Unfortunately this did not go well for either one of us. The quality of workmanship was unprofessional and now after 6 months of trying, (6 texts, 3 emails and numerous unanswered phone calls) to get it remedied I/we are left without a fully functional 2 way gate and an eyesore. I had even sourced the 12$ remedy solution for them. They have a 100% guarantee which is worthless and customer service is non existent. I am sorry to have to say that I would not recommend this company to have work done for you and certainly do not pay in full until you are completely satisfied.If it were possible to attach the pictures I would. Uneven cuts, bad boards, patchwork solutions, inadequate latches etc.

He took the full payment for the job and didn't complete it, and the work he did do was done so poorly that I had to spend much more on materials and labor to fix the many mistakes and incomplete work that he left. Decking was laid without proper support beams underneath, 50% of the framing for the screen surrounding the deck had to be replaced as it was installed improperly (joints were not square, inadequate support), door was incorrectly installed, paint dripped all over new Trex decking, planks simply laid on foundation and not secured - the list goes on and on. I still have much more work to do to complete the project as spec'd. He disappeared and now won't return my calls. Materials I paid for to complete the job were never delivered and he simply pocketed the money. RUN from this contractor. Extremely untrustworthy and extremely sub-standard quality of workmanship.
