Work Description: Roof Replacement

Comments: We had a bad experience with Rapid Roofing. Unfortunately, the address they've listed on multiple websites,105 Central Ave, SE, Huntsville, AL 35801, isn't an accurate address, it's a vacant building. They also advertise using several other addresses as well, they all differ from the address on their contracts. It's doubtful Rapid Roofing has a brick and mortar office, we are also doubtful our warranty will be honored and unsure if our roof replacement was done properly. We learned the hard way.

Alabama Code Title 13A. Criminal Code § 13A-9-111

A person commits the offense of home repair fraud when the person intentionally and knowingly does any of the following:

(1) Enters into an agreement or contract for consideration, written or oral, with a person for home repair, and the offending person knowingly engages in any one or more of the following deceptive activities:

a. Misrepresentation of a material fact relating to the terms of the contract or agreement or the preexisting or existing condition of any portion of the property involved, or the creation or confirmation of another's impression which is false and which the offending person does not believe to be true, or promises performance which the offending person does not intend to perform or knows will not be performed.

b. Use or employment of any deception, false pretense, or false promises in order to induce, encourage, or solicit a person to enter into any contract or agreement.

##c. Misrepresentation or concealment of either the offending person's real name or the name of his or her business or business address. d. Use of deception, coercion, or force to obtain a person's consent to modification of the terms of the original contract or agreement.

(2) Damages the property of a person with the intent to enter into an agreement or contract for home repair.

Comments: Definitely Do Not Recommed Rapid Roofing

Given all the nasty weather in the HSV area this past year, we needed a new roof. Rapid Roofing owner, Donny Seals, came out to meet with our homeowners insurance adjuster and promised quality service, a new roof in a timely manner, any roofing debris would be cleaned up ASAP, etc. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. Our roof is still not finished after 3 days, debris is still in our yard, our landscaping and lawn was damaged because trucks were driven on our lawn and our neighbors lawn! This evening as the workers left we were informed they have another job tomorrow. We're left without access to our garage, a mess in our yard to include roofing nails/tacks, as well as our neighbors yard and a roof replacement that hasn't been completed.

We were also required by Mr. Seals to provide the scope of work issued by our homeowners insurance to include the amount of money we would be reimbursed. Amazingly, that's the exact amount he required for a deposit prior to begin the roof replacement, which was $18,035. Stupidly, we issued a check to him for that amount. After experiencing a plethora of issues with Rapid Roofings subcontractor, Juarez Roofing, and Mr. Seals, I placed a call to our insurance company and was told it wasn't typical for a company to require such a large amount of money up front and most companies are paid incrementally.

We've watched other roof replacement companies in our neighborhood come and install new roofs in a professional and timely manner in half the time with no issues. At this point, I don't have confidence that we will receive a quality roof that will last and won't have leak issues.
In response to this review. Now that MR NORIEGA gladly paid the final balance for this project in full, with no spoken issue or complaint, I will now address this list of complaints in this review. We made every effort to inform the complainant of all the possible issues related to the scope of work prior to beginning. We do not claim to be perfect and at times have issues related to the conditions of the property, weather, requests of the owner and occasional things outside of our control. In rebuttal of these many statements, we completed the scope of work, did additional items not included on the scope and considering all circumstances provided the policyholder, MR NORIEGA with a substantial roof upgrade on the roof at zero additional cost. I could elaborate extensively on this review, however, being a proud member of the BBB of North Alabama, I will simply state this in elaboration. Once all information was provided to the BBB, the inaccuracies and statements made to the BBB were found without merit and removed. Also, there were 4 separate email accounts that attempted to post extremely negative reviews on our BBB page from 1 individual regarding this and all were removed due to the attempt to circumvent the proper process and cause undue damage to the reputation of Rapid Roofing and owner Donny Seals. Rapid Roofing takes in consideration the truth of circumstances and motive of all reviews. Rapid Roofing has received zero contact, complaint or additional information from any other party than the author of this review. We are sad that we were unable to meet the unrealistic expectations of the author of the review, but are pleased that we exceeded the expectations of the policyholder, MR NOREIGA.

Comments: Rapid Roofing did an amazing job of replacing our roof. Donny truly is rapid when it comes to returning to your calls, texts, and emails. When he told us that the whole roof needed to be replaced, he explained the details of the damage and what would have to be done to repair it. We had a lot of questions but he answered all of them patiently. He explained to us which materials would be better than others for our particular problems, which included a flat-roof porch that had leaking issues. He also added an overhang that looks as if it has always been a part of the house, which takes special attention to detail. His crew is impressive. They work hard and fast.
