Comments: I’ve read the reviews for Dylan’s work, and thought I’d give it a try. My experience with Paton’s Painting has been nothing but horrendou. I first contacted Dylan on October 28th. I needed drywall in my home repaired and painted. I sent Dylan pictures of the hole and he sent me the price. He told me for 225 he would fix the hole and paint it. He came on October 29th and replaced the drywall no paint. He tells me that he needed to get the paint so he would come back that following Tuesday. Tuesday comes around I didn’t hear from Dylan so I contacted him and he tells me Friday. Friday comes and once again I have to contact Dylan first and he pushes it back to the weekend. Didn’t hear anything from Dylan that weekend. It is now November 18th and I still have not heard from Dylan. He doesn’t answer my calls or texts. So now after I paid Dylan to fix my drywall and paint, I still have to pay somebody else to paint my wall. Very unprofessional, would not recommend.Howell MI

Comments: Dylan (owner) and his team at Paton's Painting do excellent work at a very reasonable price (I compared their pricing to several other companies). We had the pleasure of using them for drywall repair and interior painting after we had some electrical work done. Dylan is very professional, friendly and the pride in his work shows. We will be using them again for additional interior and exterior work in the next couple months. As a side note they also do electrical work so we will also be using them for those services when we replace more light fixtures in our home. Lastly, I would disregard the review below from Donald. In my experience working with contractors this individual appears to be an outlier and an impossible to please customer and not representative of the work I see from Dylan.Wixom MI

Comments: HIred in January 2022! I would absolutely not recommend anyone use this company, or Dylan’s services! See attached photos of our recently completed master suite. The “finished” product of his work was absolutely terrible, and required us to hire someone else to fix Dylan's horrible craftsmanship. We hired Dylan (the owner) to complete drywall hanging and mudding, as well as priming on all the new drywall. We also hired him to build our shower pan, and tile our master bathroom.The drywall mudding is so bad, you can see every seam, every mud spot, and every imperfection. He left spots completely unsanded, and only barely applied one coat of mudding in many spots, especially in the bathroom and bedroom. He also primed over the mudding after each coat before he sanded, which made things almost impossible to fix, because once primed, it's very hard to sand over the mudding, making it look so terrible. The new company has to remud the entire walls and ceiling and tear out seams; you can't just “fix” or “patch” over this terrible work, the drywall has to be entirely recoated in a new layer of mudding to get things even.
As for the painting job he did, that was also very poor quality, you can see hard paint streaks everywhere. He also did no cutting in on corners or around light fixtures. Not to mention he didn't even finish putting the primer on most of the new drywall in many areas of the project.
As you can see in the pictures, the shower pan was not built properly at all. He had installed a self leveling mechanism, improperly, and then poured the mortar on top of that. The self leveling mechanism should have been installed under the waterproofing membrane. Due to the improper installation, the next day the entire pan started to beval, crack, and fall apart. This has to be completely torn out and redone. We ended up taking the tiling off the table for him, once we saw how terrible quality he provided on the drywall and shower.
The pictures speak for themselves, we hired Dylan to complete the mudding, paint primer on the new drywall, and build our shower pan. As you can see, he did not complete the work, and what he did do, is completely unacceptable to be considered “finished” work. After paying Dylan the final payment, and getting him off my job, I looked closer at the receipt of a phone order I made for him while he was at Lowes getting materials. To make things worse, many items on that receipt were not items that were used for my project, and or items we now needed to replace due to his poor installation quality. After bringing this up, as well as the terrible quality of workmanship of the project, Dylan refused to compensate us back for the materials that were not used on our project, and also refused to compensate us for the new company to come in and fix all his mistakes. The matter is now proceeding in court.
Overall, I am writing this review so Dylan cant take advantage of anyone else, PLEASE do not trust this person to do anything on your home, the quality will be terrible, and he will not care, he will take your money, and pretend he will deliver, but will fail, and leave you and your project in shambles!! Beware of this company, and Dylan!!!!
