Work Description: Handyman/Installation of a railing and banister
Comments: In most cases, it was tough to rate higher than 2 stars. On a positive note, the quality of the craftsmanship (carpentry, design) was generally good, however there are some pretty obvious flaws that I will need to have addressed. I would NOT recommend working with this company.We hired Dan from Platinum Property Service to install a railing and banister in our home. Communication was really lacking on when the project was going to actually going to start. On the first day the contractor was going to start, I received a text that he was going to be later than expected. However he never showed up at all, with no additional communication until I reached out that evening. The next day, he was supposed to arrive at 8:30, however did not arrive until closer to 11am. On the third day, a Friday, he again showed up late morning and worked well into the evening which made it difficult to participate in evening activities.
Dan was supposed to finish the project the following Monday, however I have not heard from him again. There are many flaws in the finish - misalignment in areas of the trim, uneven staining of the railing, drips in the stain and general sloppiness in staining that got on the walls, painting of the spindles that was never started and are now partially covered in stain, patching of drywall that is uneven and incomplete. Unfortunately, I will need to hire another contractor to correct these issues and finish the job.
