Comments: After multiple quotes, I hired Onyx Construction for a sizeable project (repairs..drywall.painting) ..most importantly the quote was affordable and they were able to meet my completion deadline. The before and after results exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!

Comments: I did not actually use her and here is why. The day of the quote the contractor called 10 minutes before the appointment and said he could not make it. This was strike 1. The owner called a couple hours later and said she would come. She did come out and before she left she said she would send the quote that night. At around 9pm she sent a text that said she just got home and would send the quote in the morning. This was strike 2. The next day after we didn’t hear from her by 11 my husband texted her and she said we was still working on it. She didn’t actually send the quote until after 3pm. That was strike 3. She will not get my business. I wanted to support a black owned business but she wasn’t professional enough for me.
Hi, I actually do apologize that we were not able to meet your needs. Yes, you are correct-my Estimator did call, to let you all know that he had, just that morning, experienced a Family members death. When he called me to let me know, I Immediately called you all...and although I had appointment tments to make myself I met with your husband to give you all a quote. I have to say that the meet went well...and I did tell him I would have the quote that evening. Little did I know that as LIFE would have it- I Locked my keys in the back of my vehicle, while giving him samples of our flooring...YEP...Right there on your property...he was gracious, asked if I needed anything while I waited for the locksmith...And came out again when the tech got there. I mentioned to him that i had a few more appts that I would be late for, but I'd already called them to let them know...again, luck would have it that I actually Signed 1 of them. So by the time I got home, I was Shot...Tired...and Yes it was late, however, I Needed to reach out to let him know that I had not forgotten about him. The next morning, there were meetings that had been scheduled, I met them, then sent you all my quote. Yes, it was later than I expected...but I Did send it. This Culture that we are in...This "Cancel Culture" is Horrible! It does not allow for the luxuries of Discretion...conversations...the meting out of "Negative Ratings" is doled...Swiftly! We hadn't even had a conversation-you and I, but it appears that This was best. I do appreciate you Allowing us in to your house to quote your Flooring...and wish you well. BTW, for Anyone else reading this...please dont do me the Favor of hiring me because I am a "minority"...my body just doesnt respond the way it used to, after all of the flipping...and jumping...and bending...backwards... Thank you.

Work Description: Wood Fence Install

Comments: Overall not what i expected or desired.
Quality- The pickets were not cut uniformly so there are small gaps throughout that you can see through and they set the fence right next to the base of tree. The dog and a human can't squeeze through on that side and it will difficult to cut the tree without some consequences to the fence, a couple of inches or feet wider as I suggested before they began work would have made common sense. They were supposed to put the post in and let them set a day in the cement and put the pickets in the next day. When I came back home, the posts and frame for the fence were up and they were rushing to put the pickets in, same day. Not what was expected or told would happen.
Price-Got what I paid for in terms of price, but i was trying to look out for a minority contractor. Will know better for future projects.
Punctuality-Poor communication from owner and several delays with excuses. 2-3 promise dates all were missed due to so-called supply delays and then was preparing to leave home when they finally showed up and rushed through the job.
Wouldn't get my recommendation for hiring.
