Work Description: Air Conditioning and heating
Comments: OML replaced our AC and Heating unit. The last work OML conducted was in July 2022. They utilized off brand equipment the team installed improperly. They caused damage to our ceiling which they did not fix. They did not fit the equipment with new piping and left the old piping leaking in our utility room. To make it worse they left wires exposed from a junction box under the leaking pipe.Otto got aggravated that we requested him to fix the shoddy work. Since July he’s promised three times to return and fix everything. Otto said “he would make it right”. That never happened. He doesn’t return our calls and has his answering service dodge us.
We are left with leaking pipes, exposed wires, a damaged ceiling and equipment that does not function well. We paid almost $12,000 for low quality work and equipment.
Otto has refused to provide us receipts and any documentation of OML’s work. Without the documentation our warranties on the equipment are rendered useless.
Be very cautious about working with Otto and OML HVAC.

Comments: When I first contacted him by text, We had a few differences on units we discussed but when the gentleman arrived at my house, I found him pleasant and knowledgeable. After checking my old unit, he told me he would email me an estimate which arrived the next morning. I have 2 other appointments then will make a decision and he will definitely be considered for the job. I feel that if I choose his company, it will be a well done job and quality work provided. Comments: Otto was great with actually following up with a quote, calling to see that I got it etc. His crew arrived on time and were very courteous and went right to work. After installation the unit wouldn't work and the Nest was not detecting power...then the nest died. Probably a power surge or something. My husband installed a new thermostat the next morning. It still didn't work. Otto came out right away and within 40 minutes had the problem (not done by his people) identified and fixed. He's very knowledgeable as well as friendly. Comments: This was absolutely the worst experience I had, would not recommend. Otto suggested that I add a variable speed blower to my HVAC, and pressured me to do it fast because prices was going to increase by 25% the following week. When he men came to do the install, overheard them saying they thought it was odd to be replacing a heating element in the AC months. It did not fix my issue, and Otto had given me a guarantee to add a return to the top floor if it would not work. It was a painful process to get the return added. Every time I called to schedule the return, Otto said he was busy and would call back, but never heard from him. Then he said fell sick/hospitalized and didn't hear from him or the company for 2 weeks. Finally one Wed, after I reached out Otto said he would have someone come out Friday, and I had to follow up multiple times for the timing. When his guys came, they were very annoyed they were given the job.. and that they were only told an hour before and didn't have what they needed to do the work. Had to reschedule. Also I kindly asked about Otto recovery and wished him well, and even though it is a small family own business, the guys had no idea there was anything wrong with Otto's health.Palos Heights IL
