Work Description: They were hired as our subcontractor to tear out old sheetrock from ceiling and dispose of in a double garage, then install 33 sheets of sheetrock and finish.
Comments: This company said they were looking forward to building a working relationship with our company as one of our subs. They were late to our first meeting by about 30 minutes in order to get quoted a price. The price was reasonable, so we agreed to pay them half upfront and then the balance upon completion. They were to have a demo team at the worksite on Monday morning at 9 am (7/17/17). Early Monday morning they called my brother (partner) to say they were running behind and would not be there until 10:30 am. Our other partner who was in charge of this project was going to be there to meet them. The guy we talked to was called Shawn. After several promptings they arrived around 11:15 am. Dropping off 2 folks identified as their demo team Shawn left for them to get started. They came with 1 ladder, 1 saws all, hammer and flatbar, but did finish in a couple of hours. Of course before Shawn left he met our customer, who introduced herself and then he introduced himself as Derek. Our partner was standing beside him and said I thought your name was Shawn and he said no, you must be mistaken, then after customer went inside he said the company allowed him to change his name. That raised some big flags so I left the office to go over and meet with him. He told me neither of the names given were correct. Anyway he left, his guys finished with a big pile of sheetrock in the driveway on tarp and then they could not get him back with a truck to pick up. He would say when we called him that they were just 15 minutes out, which ended up taking about 2 hrs for them to get back. Bad day behind us we hoped their installers would be there at 9 am the next morning. Day 2 over and no one ever showed up, even though Shawn, Derek, Desi or whoever he is said that his crew was missing pieces of their scaffolding, so they were running late again. Upon further investigation I went to the listed site of their office and the lady there said they had vacated one year ago. Please stay clear of this group. Not sure how you will be able to do this since they seem to just change their name and continue their horrible service. We lost time and thus money trying to work with and help out this company, but after several hours of research I found out that the owner (Shawn, Derek, Desi) has a record (mostly minor offenses) about 7 or 8 pages long, so this is why he probably did not want to give his real name. He is a likeable guy and apparently found Networx.com out of Atlanta, Ga who have been feeding him leads. This company did not do their due diligence in vetting this guy or company and because we believed in their process we did not do our due diligence either, but please be careful to take the time to do your research whether you are another contractor or homeowner. There is more that could be said, but this should be enough to cause you to be careful. Other names they used for this company: N & D Development Enterprises & Capital Industries.-
