Work Description: Gas Furnace - Install

Comments: 9/18/2021 Zero Stars - This was one of the worst experiences that I've had with a contractor. Mr. King is a nice man who lacks good customer service and follow through. The process of installing my furnace and humidifier took from Nov 2020 to Jun 2021. I had to dispute a portion of the $2700 that he charged for furnace, humidifier and installation to get him to come back to complete the humidifier install. He was constantly changing the appointment times and never was on time. I disputed $950 which included overcharge for furnace due to changing from 2-stage to 1-stage furnace, humidifier installation parts & labor and furnace check & inspection. After the credit card company got involved, it took several appointments to resolve the issue. I asked the credit card company to return $900 to him. He wanted the $50 and I explained to him that my time is valuable and I wasn't paying anymore. During Mr. King's last visit where he was completing the install of the humidifier, I asked him how would I know that it was working. He stated that it was too hot to test it and he would come back and do so. Several weeks later, I discovered that the inner parts of the humidifier (Water Distribution Tray, Water Panel & Scale Control Insert) were still in the box where he had placed them the visit before because he hadn't completed the install. I called and left him a message as well as sent him a text on Sun, Jun 20, 2021. I haven't heard from him. I now must call the credit card company with another dispute. I'm so disappointed. I wanted to have a good experience. I was beyond patient and understanding. From my experience and perspective, this is just incompetent. I'm not the expert on furnaces and the corresponding humidifier. Mr. King is suppose to be the expert. How could he come to my home to complete the humidifier install and leave all the inner working parts in the box that he placed on the shelf? This was the absolute worst. I have spent hours and hours on just trying to get a furnace and humidifier installed. I'm off to report Mr. King to my credit card company as well as to the Better Business Bureau and any other applicable agencies. Time is most valuable to me. Once it's gone, I can't get it back. No one can get it back. Mr King needs better systems to help him stay organize and focus so he can provide good to great customer service. Again, this was the absolute worst. Zero Stars
This customer review is fraudulent . The facts are not as they are portrayed. First of all it really saddens me that a customer would go through so much trouble to throw shame on our reputation. Mrs. Hampton is a decent customer who expects absolute perfection but her methods of doing things leaves much to be desired. She doesn't listen to our expertise or remember previous conversations. Right now at this moment she doesn't know if the parts she claims she saw are from the current humidifier or from the other models that we brought over to her home and forget to take away. She writes reviews on emotion and not fact. The customer is very forgetful. We informed her that we will come back when it gets cold outside to help her with the humidifier since she wanted to test it . We also informed her that the limited space between the furnace that sits in her bread closet was tight so putting that bypass humdifier in that space was not advised. But again she persisted. When installing the furnace it took one day, period . One day . She didn't like the midst humidifier we bought so by agreement , the process of finding and installing a bypass humdifier that would fit was prolonged by agreement. Mrs . Hampton runs a business so her schedule is hectic and cannot be predicted and for this reason only it takes time to book appointments. The condo association is also difficult to make appointments through. A couple times we tried to make appointments with her to do work had to be cancelled because the city had not shoveled the snow and the condo association had no parking available or we would be towed. Her AC coil drain line was temporarily fixed in exchange for the change in furnace type. This was explained to her in Nov 2020. This saved her money from not having to buy a new one . It was our understanding that this was a fair exchange. When summer came we remind her of this fact that she had a AC that was not leaking water on her brand new furnace. We told her that moving these lines to get to where the humidifier would need to be placed could mess up her temporary AC repair and she would be without AC for the summer.... And that she would have to buy a new coil. This didn't register with her . We basically explained if we start moving things to set humidifer on the side of the furnace with the 6 inches of space she would need a new coil. She didn't want to buy a new coil so this kinda stopped the work at that point. She just needed to make a appointment not file a dispute and the amount she filed the dispute for 950 was hardly the price of installing a humidifier that was present. We came back and installed the humidifier and to this day have not received that money back. The customer had a new furnace put in within one day and it was given to her at a price that saved her a lot of money. TRY GETTING A FURNACE FOR THAT PRICE TODAY. Instead of being grateful to have saved money, she writes a fraudulent review , you shouldn't have to do limbo to have to install a humidifier . IN CLOSING we did work and after seeing this review I called the bank. We did not get paid , and I am currently missing nearly 950. She failed to contact her bank and they didn't release the money yet. It was been 4 months. AGAIN GAIL HAMPTON but is trully misinformed. This review will be changed in future.

Comments: We had scheduled for a furnace installation only, changed our minds and added a AC unit in the morning of the installation. The company went back to supply house and purchased unit for us and installed them both that day.... I really appreciate them working with us , (especially my wife who changes her mind a lot.) They came a hour later then we expected because of the AC unit being added to the order. They did a wonderful job.

Comments: Good price but he gave me the wrong sized unit. Installed incorrectly and had to incur more time/cost to fix. Not worth the headache. Get it done by a professional.
The customer in question had a old improperly sized furnace to start with and a corresponding improperly sized ductwork. The best choice was a modulating furnace. After installing a modulating Bryant furnace 96 percent efficient , the customer never alerted us to any problem that he had with the unit. The customer paid half of the bill using his credit card. He then fell for a scam by another contractor. He allowed this contractor to take his 3000 furnace away and install something else. Instead of mentioning to us any problem that he had with the modulating unit which has a 10 warranty, he then had another contractor uninstall the unit we put in and keep the unit that he had not finished paying for. The customer in question then had the credit card company dispute the charge for the furnace. The credit card company ruled against him. There is nothing I can do for a customer who behaves this way. Customer in question was very weird , he had a hidden camera in the basement and videotaped us doing the whole job without permission. To summarize, the customer had a furnace that was perfectly sized for his house and had modulating furnace that he got for a steal. He was conned by another company.

Comments: This guy took time to inspect my ducts/vents. After that he let me know what need to be done and how much is going to cost me. He later went to get additional materials needed to get the work done. He worked on the job till late hour in the night. He works patiently and very neat work.

Comments: I loved that they came out the same day for service. The person had a change in time needed, but called and came within that time period. The service took about 6 hours however, which was fine because it was later explained that he tested the system longer to make sure nothing was leaking My only want is for better communication with what services they were doing and how long it would take throughout the process.

Comments: It was the middle of winter when my heat went out. The technician from King Heating Solutions came right out. He opened up one of the Supply Houses and got my family and I a new furnace at 10pm at night. He stayed the next 4 hours and installed it throughout the night. We were so blessed to have his help. Next week he came and replaced our AC unit.

Comments: I will refer all my friends, family and collegues to King Heating going forward. I was in a state of emergency when record low temps hit last week and my furnace stopped working. My house was 39 degrees and rapidly dropping with my two young chuldren at home. Every other company I called was estimating days to get to me. King Heating got to me and solved my issue within a few hours, also notable that the service man was honest and did not overcharge me. Thank you King Heating I am your loyal customer for life!
