Work Description: Interior & Exterior work
Comments: I met him (Ruben) from neighbor across the street. Her brother was working for him at the time middle of Summer 2019. The original project was to inspect and repair the roof around the house, especially the front porch, fix small area of fascia, section where missing downspout with an underground water drainage leading rainwater away from the house, etc. Sounded very enticing and that was middle of July. He quoted $2,500 /w $1,250 for the materials to start. Several days later, He and his team brought in 3 buckets roof sealants and applied part of front porch and back of the house where the kitchen section stick out of the house, and few other smaller spots. After that, I've never heard from him again. He and his team left the mess side of the house. Several failed attempted to call him and unable to leave messages due to his voice mail constantly full.Finally, back in September 21, I got a hold of him. He apologized and claimed it was too hot to work even though there are several 100-year-old giant trees in front and nearby the house. Furthermore, he also claimed that he can do the interior work have it done by the end of the month. He requested $5,200 labor only /w my Home Depot card for purchasing materials, which I ended up returning most of them back later to Home Depot.
At the time, I heard plenty of noise regarding workers not getting pay. One of the workers vent his frustration to me directly. I gave Ruben $3,000 advance believing he will finish the project as he claimed and at the same time, taking care of his ....
Boy, that was a mistake. I have not seen him since. The project not even 25% complete and in the beginning of October, I text him and say I only have 10 days (about 1 and a half weeks) left to hand over the house to new tenant, will he be able to finish the rest of the work and he reply YES. Again, no show, zero respond from him
He is terrible in managing money and his people. He never delivers his work and not plan to. I ended up last few days get someone else to quickly finish the rest of the work.
I hope that anyone plan to hire him, be incredibly careful and walk away. He can really talk and fast too. He should have been a used car sale person rather than running a contraction firm.
