Comments: Price was excellent for the jobs done. Very personable contractor. For a two man crew during a rainy season, not bad. But, they didn't seem to work well together. I felt the employee seemed to be in charge instead of the foreman. And we had not had meaningful conversation with the employee about what we wanted done with the trimming of the oak and elm on the property. The employee had a heavy accent, maybe Haitian or Jamaican and seemed to be cutting limbs at random rather than the more specific limbs we were concerned with. When I pointed out the limbs we discussed with the contractor, the employee seemed confused, but then said he understood what I wanted. And then he cut what I requested. I also asked for him to toss out the dead branches that had fallen in the tree, to give it air, a clean up of previous wind damages to smaller branches caught in the heavier limbs, but they are all still there. It was a hard decision to cut some of the limbs off this grand old oak, so there may have been some miscommunication with the contractor about what we expected. He first chatted with my husband and then I came in at the tail end. So.. possibly we over-communicated. We may have to cut the tree down at some point due to new policy insurability going on inside the home insurance coverage industry, with massive trees too close to the home. We are hoping that it survives the wounding from overcutting lots of the lower limbs and not treating the cuts to prevent disease. But it has survived limb removal before, just not this extensive. I believe Asplund did way more damage to the health and beauty of this tree 2.5 years ago that made it look sickly to the insurance inspectors during their drive-bys. Sean did what he could to balance it out, but I still felt like his crewman was just barely understanding the instructions he was getting from Sean. Sometimes he would drop limbs when Sean wasn't close enough to correct/direct the fall. Several landed on the roof and needed to be gently drug off until they landed on the ground. The tree limbs were very close to the roof line. Maybe that couldn't be helped. No damage was done to the roof or guttering as far as we could tell. All in all we were comfortable with the work done for the price. If you are on a tight budget and need tree trimming/cutting, Sean will get the job done for you.

Comments: We fired this contractor after more days of work than promised, partial results that looked unprofessional, not according to our specifications, and after giving him multiple opportunities to correct his work. After consulting a second opinion contractor, we were advised that the work that Jefe, LLC had done was not in line with that of a professional contractor and had caused permanent damage to our existing materials that would now need to be replaced. We attempted to resolve the issue directly with the merchant but were unsuccessful. He also stole pre-existing hardscape materials from my property which I have on ring doorbell video as well as filed a police report for. He fraudulently altered the contract we mutually signed and submitted it to my bank after I filed a dispute for the charges, which I have proof of. The bank was unable to do anything because of the fraudulent contract he submitted to them and advised us to pursue this through the courts. This began in April and I have given him until now to resolve this outside of court by simply refunding what we paid him. We even offered to facilitate him retrieving materials he bought that weren't what we agreed to prior to his purchasing them so he could return them. He refused. We will now be following the advice of legal counsel and filing a court case for reimbursement for damages as well as well as refund for what we paid.

Upon completion, it was not only what I had requested....it was far beyond what I could have imagined! Great job! I would highly recommend and will be using this company for any future projects!!
