Work Description: Bathroom Remodel
Comments: First, the Work team was EXCELLENT. The Team Leader was Andres, with two assistants - Henry and Uriel. They were on-time each day, maintained their Covid mask wearing at all times, consulted BEFORE making any unsure decisions, courteous of the condo and surrounding structures. They left the jobsite clean at the end of each day. They worked FULL days and got the tub replaced with a low threshold shower, plumbing, fixtures and tiled walls with grab-bars in 3 days!Getting the contract in-place with my desired wording changes took some personal effort because the Estimator was busy. I was not impressed when the Owner tried to get me to pay for wet-wall board (for which he over purchased) and grout for the tile saying these were "finishing" items. Code does not allow wet area tile installation without wet-wall backing; you cannot install tile without grout. But when pressed, he agreed I was right. This to me was a questionable approach. Final painting of the small bathroom was included in the contract but I failed to specify the walls would be surfaced prepped prior to painting (after all, who would paint without preparing the surface?). So there were paint splotches, drips and bumps which remained as is. Overall, the end SHOWER product turned out quite nice but the process took SIGNIFICANT contractor oversight. The final result met our need within the needed timeframe.
