Work Description: Various indoor and outdoor work
Comments: I do NOT recommend Ray Hicks with Home Run Construction. I signed a contract and paid a 50% deposit with Ray to do various projects inside and outside my home (install floors, new banister, recessed lights, painting, new carpet, fence in backyard, 750 sqft concrete patio and add steps to my current deck) on October 19th 2021. He promised me everything would be finished except for the fence because it’s back ordered by December 1st. I asked if he is sure if that is a realistic time frame because I don’t want to live with construction during Christmas time. He said yes.On November 8th the work inside the house started. We got HOA approval for the outdoor work in November as well. I reminded him to get the county permits started because they can take a little longer.
By Christmas time, we still needed to finish the stairway banister and paint. That was not done until January and finished in February. He told me in March they would start the outside work so the ground has time to defrost from winter.
He did not start the permit process with the county until January 17th and still to this day, they are not approved. I have asked him many times for an update, and he will not respond. I have also found out that he is not a licensed contractor and he also never did order the fence materials from lowes back in October when we signed a contract like he said he did. I called lowes last week to find out what was going on since he would not give me proof that he ordered it and there is no record at all of him placing the order.
At this point, we are no longer willing to work with Ray because he has failed to communicate with us (have not heard from him in weeks), has not ordered supplies after 5 months and has failed to get county permits approved. He needs to give us a refund now.
Chris, Sam and Shelby who did the work inside my home are all amazing and hard working guys. They do outstanding work. Show up on time and get the job done. In my opinion, I feel that Ray is lacking in his own customer service since he will not answer calls, e mails or texts and It makes me feel like he has taken my money and ran off with it. I feel that he has no intention of finishing the jobs that he signed for in his contract.
