Comments: I was very impressed with the company's representative, Alicia Nightingale, who did a thorough inspection of my roof. They are going to work with my insurance company regarding damages to my roof. Alicia advised me to be patient to hear back from Douglass and to contact her should I hear from my insurance company. I will be patient. My gut feeling tells me that she can help me.

Work Description: Replace roof after Hurricane Irma.

Comments: I hired Douglass Restoration to replace my roof after Hurricane Irma and am thoroughly disgusted with the finished product. A bulk of the work was done while I was out of town, which is fine because my wife and I were away for the summer, but when I returned I was disgusted to find that they had used a much cheaper asphalt roll instead of the nice shingles we picked out! I immediately I called and informed them and I was told "the roof passed inspection, we're done with it at this point." Leaving our beautiful home with a mismatched, cheap looking roof.
John, as we informed you on the phone we are a State Licensed and regulated roofing contractor and must abide the Florida Building Code to maintain our license. The roof you are speaking of has a low slope which required a Modified Bitumen application. Shingles cannot be applied to low slope roofs. The Modified Bitumen we used is from the best manufacturer in the business. The rest of your sloped roof received the shingles you selected. This was all explained to you politely by our office staff over the phone as well as by our tech that visited you onsite. You are correct we did pass all the required inspections because we installed all the roofing material correctly according to the Florida Building Code and we are finished with the roof at this point. As I said, we must follow the Florida Building Code and therefore we cannot install shingles on the low sloped portion of your roof, which by the way is a very small portion of the roof on your home. In fact we would have failed the inspections had we done that and put our license at risk. Feel free to contact your local building department to confirm all of this. Thanks.

Comments: We had our roof completed a while ago, but were so busy we couldn't leave the review until now!

First of all, WOW! We love our roof! There are no words, the roof is absolutely beautiful We ordered a steel roof, which DRI installed. All of my neighbors love it, some jealous, some happy to see our old house get a new roof.

Every step of the roof installation was communicated with us, they didn't just do the job, they explained what they were doing each step of the way, the way a real contractor should be!

You really cannot get better than DRI - the pricing was the absolute best in town, without question. They bid lower, worked faster, and installed a higher quality roof... How could you lose with them?

They also went above and beyond and took care of some additional issues our old house had during the installation. DRI was extremely willing and understood that an old house has a few surprises, all of which they were willing to help fix with zero problem at all!
