Work Description: 50’ sidewalk from parking pad to shed, with side extension to meet existing walkway.Comments: Bruno and his crew were friendly and professional. Scheduled the work for Thursday actually came late afternoon the day before to do some prep work. Arrived early on Thurs., finished prep work, concrete came on time and Bruno and crew did the finish work. Sidewalk looks terrific! Meets all of our expectations.
I would hire him again!
Work Description: Great job on time price. only thing I have not gotten a receipt for what he was paid. And they left a mess in the street in witch I had to clean up by order of the city of Portland!!!!!!Comments: see above
Work Description: Walkway alongside the house, 38 feet long x 7 feet wideComments: Bruno and his team did an exceptional job. They answered all my questions, completed all the work including clean up in a very timely fashion and within the timeframes stated. Bruno's estimate was superior to all others quoted, the competed project looks great. I will be using Bruno and his team again when I need concrete services, they are professional and deliver.
Work Description: I had a very bad problem with one of the 3 slabs of concrete that was poured in 1980 when the house was built. They never put down rebar or wire mesh and the concrete was breaking apart. So I hired Bruno's Concrete and they removed the 3 slabs in front of the garage and I had them replace the walkway all so It all matches. Bruno's did a great job for a very fair price.Comments: I would recommend Bruno's Concrete to any one who needs cement or any driveway work done.
Work Description: Demolition and removal of concrete RV parking pad in the backyardComments: Bruno was punctual, professional, and efficient! He had the job done lickety-split, and beat all competitors’ prices by a long-shot! I will DEFINITELY be hiring Bruno again in the future!
Work Description: New drivewayComments: I had a large sinkhole in the section of my driveway closest to the street. When I discussed my concerns, Bruno said he could do the entire driveway for
a substantial amount per section that just pouring and compacting the section with the sinkhole. We agreed on a price and I had to find financing, which I did. They scheduled but had to finish up another job. When he arrived with his father-in-law they worked on breaking up the old driveway and hauling the chunks away. It took four days and the weather was extremely cold, just prior to the week of snow that Portland had recently. I asked for 6" deep of crushed gravel compacted in the section where the sinkhole was, and 4" deep on the rest of the driveway.
I have large metal gates that he was going to use PVC pipe in so that the center gate posts could fit inside and keep the gates from blowing open. They worked for 4 days and asked me to pay supply contractors as we went. I pulled all my resources and paid him a large payment at the end so I wouldn't have to put it on a credit card, which would have cost him a 2.9% processing fee, but he had told me he would not charge me that. With the snows coming in right after they completed work it was a few days before I noticed the sunken in bubbles and pits where they had poured the concrete over the crushed gravel in the sinkhole area. I called with no reply for several days and then I called and he said that he was going to come over the next day to fix the gate. Instead of putting PVC pipe in while the concrete was wet, he attempted to drill it out after it dried, leaving a mess that needs to be fixed. I notified him of my concerns, as well as I mentioned the poor finishing by the large gates and asked him to come over so we could walk through these problems. Also they poured the driveway too high as it meets my garage door so rain water and melting snow runs back under the garage door and leaves standing water when I enter (I'm a senior and that is dangerous). My son said they should have left a small ridge where their concrete met my garage door. I also asked Bruno about the way it was finished. It looks terrible. He had a good rating on his stars, but I'm certainly not happy. He isn't returning my calls, plus he isn't answering his phone (when he sees my number, perhaps?) Now that he has his money, He won't get in touch with me, either. I'm very upset that I paid a large sum of money to have the entire driveway done when my original request was to have the sinkhole area in one section repaired. I would not even have had all the work done, if I had known what the end result was, which was not compacting the 6" of crushed gravel down properly above the sink hole. I could see the concrete moving and bubbling up as they used boards to try to make it look flat. I had also asked that it sloped slightly to the side of my garden and the neighbor's and my driveway which is shared, as there is a shared drain. Instead the water sits on the driveway in pools and in the backyard it isn't slightly sloped so it runs into the area of gravel under my pavers which washed the rock out from under them. I just had that corrected this summer and was not happy about that. I was very clear with Bruno about not having the concrete slope towards the east, but to the west where my garden is (which is torn up pretty much now and will require me to fix it.) There is a board along side of the cement in the front yard that I think they forgot to remove. He has not responded to any of my emails, nor returned messages I left for him. I will be sending a letter to the CCB shortly if I do not hear from him.
Work Description: replace sidewalks and drivewayComments: I am changing my review. The finished project looked very nice. Unfortunately I later noticed that I have water getting into my garage. I had not had that problem before. I have contacted them and they say they will fix it. They tell me a time they will be here and then never show up. This has happened several times. They no longer return my calls or text. Very frustrated.
