Work Description: Hired Jeff Smith of Atlantic Construction of South Florida to remodel (3) Bathrooms. He sounded very passionate about the business and of course presented a License number. He collected 50% down, then an additional 25%, once the work started. However, the first bathroom was estimated as 3 to 4 days; nonetheless, 4 weeks later was still not complete. The drywall guy started out doing fairly good work, then suddenly became responsible for electrical and plumbing, which on one or more occasions he admitted that he was neither and the decline in the quality of work started to become noticeable. Jeff Smith, the president of Atlantic Construction of South Fl, personally came to the house and apologized to my wife for the slow progress, even mentioning how embarrassed he was and assured her that the work would be complete on the 1st bathroom. He said he would be sending 3 guys to start demolition on the remaining bathrooms. However, the same drywall guy, that had been having issues with electrical and plumbing (not licensed in this area), advised that he would be returning with one guy the next day, to start the demo upstairs. Mind you, the first bathroom still was not complete (unfinished/open drywall, unconnected plumbing and exposed electrical). Fearful of having catastrophic problems at our home, we sent notice to Atlantic Construction of South Florida, that we would be terminating our contract, upon completion of the first bathroom and requested a refund of deposits for remaining bathrooms, as well as, additional out of pocket expenses for supplies purchased in his absence. The next day we received a call from an Atlantic Construction representative, that someone was coming to complete downstairs, as well as a cleaning lady. Once my wife gave them access, they retrieved their equipment, left a few paint brushes and odd items to appear to return, and never came back. I attempted to reach out to Jeff Smith, president of Atlantic Construction of South Florida to have him at least have a licensed electrician come out and enclose the exposed electrical wiring because I have minors and an autistic daughter in my home. But there was no empathy or professionalism to this regard...he just ignored the calls, emails and messages. 2 weeks later, everything goes to his voicemail.

Comments: When it comes to hiring Atlantic Construction of South Florida, BEWARE! Advertisement of being a licensed contractor and a comparable price will attract you; however, if you choose to do so, be prepared for unlicensed work, lesser quality work, and disappointments. It appears they have left Home Advisor and moving around qualifying to different sites to avoid detection.
