Work Description: 60 trees, 40 stumps removed over 3 properties
Comments: I can’t say enough good things about Bill Tidswell and his crew with Around the Grounds tree service. They did a major job for us post Dorian involving 3 properties, removing about 60 trees (6 huge ones) and 40 stumps.Customer service was above and beyond! Bill responded to all my many texts and phone calls right away and showed up for all appointments and work exactly when promised. He is articulate and knowledgeable about issues with tree removal, gave good advice, seemed genuinely excited about opportunity to clear one lot of scraggly pines to expose harbor view with live oaks. He offered to to cut wood for firewood, blow off roof (previous debris, not caused by his company), move boats and other heavy objects on property when I requested, all at no additional cost. Bill was even willing and diplomatic enough to negotiate with neighbor to go on his property to remove two dying trees at fence line that had been littering my swimming pool.
As for the job itself, the precision and hustle with which these guys work was amazing! They brought down a huge pine, difficult because next to right angle power lines at a curve in our driveway, and placed it in the precise narrow space it could land without causing damage.
This company is professional with a lot of expensive equipment (Skid steer to push over trees, feed the chipper , and spread mulch, Chipper to put the branches in and turn them into mulch, Bucket truck to set ropes and piece down the trees they couldn’t drop, Stump grinder to grind the stumps, Dump trailers to carry off wood and debris) plus a crew of five to complete my complex job in only 3 1/2 days. I liked that Bill and his partner are on site, personally invested and involved in all aspects of tree removal, there to consult and oversee that all runs smoothly.
My husband and I also both thought Bill offered us a very fair price, especially considering the price gouging that was happening after Dorian. Around the Grounds is a company located near Greenville SC, but came to Charleston to help after the storm (I contacted them after watching their work across the street at a neighbor’s house). They are looking to expand their business to Charleston, so eager to build up a good reputation for quality work, outstanding customer service, at a reasonable price which they certainly deliver!
