Work Description: Shower Installation
Comments: I believe this is the first time I've ever posted a bad review for a business, because mistakes can happen. However, the issues with my shower installation were so egregious, that I felt that I had to write this. I asked Orlando to refund my money, since the amount I was going to have to pay to fix their errors was almost three times what Orlando quoted me for the whole job. I will list the issues here, and you can decide what you think. They put up no barrier and didn't close the bathroom door from my bathroom to the main house, so all the dust and soot from drilling through concrete and removing plaster walls was all over my 1st and 2nd floors. I had to pay a cleaning company $400 to commercially clean the black soot and dust off my kitchen countertops, cupboards, dining room and living room furniture and up to my 2nd floor. Shower head was put in too low on the wall at 74", so anyone over 5'8" tall would have to duck to take a shower, since the shower head arm comes down another 6" from the 74" height. Shower head and turn on valve were not centered on the shower wall or centered with each other, shower head at 15" on a 34" wall. Turn on valve was at 13" on a 34" wall. Walls were not plumbed, so I was unable to have tiles installed on the walls of the shower. Instead, we had to go with fiberglass walls that had to be shimmed and nailers added to fit properly. Existing trim was cut 2 1/2 inches too far to the left, and looked like they cut it with a hacksaw, so additional trim work had to be completed to fix their errors. I hired a plumber to look at the work that was completed by Orlando's team, and he said the shower drain vent wasn't installed correctly in addition to all the other problems and quoted me almost 3 times the price that Orlando quoted me to complete the entire job. Almost 2 months later, the shower has now been fixed. The wallboard had to be removed and all the plumbing redone before they could even begin to put everything together correctly. When approached, Orlando put the blame elsewhere and refused to refund the payment that I made of 1/2 of the total quote.Edgewater NJ
