Comments: I am a handy guy. I've rehabbed a number of homes in the past, and can do (if I have enough time) just about everything -- plumbing, electrical, roofing, tiling, drywall, etc. So, my challenge in finding a contractor is (1) getting one that I trust (actually, that's everyone's challenge!), and (2) getting a price that actually makes sense. In this day and age, it's easy to find out what the equipment costs. And while I am fine with paying for expertise, I don't want to overpay for the manual labor aspect of the job and all of the overhead that many of the contracting houses carry. This often sends me into a deep search and interview process when I need help. Well, Rick (the owner of Aire Serv Brockport) perfectly fills the slot of high quality expertise with a reasonable price. He has an actual degree in HVAC, a ton of commercial-grade experience (In the HVAC department of Wegmans of all places), and he couldn't have been more professional or nice. He replaced my 3.5 ton 22-year-old AC unit with a 5-ton Goodman (yes, after he analyzed the house, we found out that I was dramatically undersized), and I feel like I got great value for my money. The bottom line: I am a skeptical, (perhaps overly-) educated consumer (in other words, I am pain in the a## for the contractors). And after all of my research, I hired Rick. Now that the job is done, I can say that I received great service and value. I was comfortable with Rick (and Ron, his employee) in my home and around my child. And I will absolutely hire him again (should the need arise). If you let him give you a quote on your work, I bet that you'll hire him, too.-
