The DiPietro family has served the Merrimack Valley for more than 60 years. Joseph A. DiPietro, owner and president of DiPietro Heating & Cooling, represents the third generation of the family to provide heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical services to greater Boston and Southern New Hampshire.

The company has a fleet of fully stocked service vehicles and serves both homes and businesses for installations and service.

"I've been in the business for as long as I can remember. I first began working for my family's business as a teenager. I've learned a lot from my experiences, namely the importance of customer satisfaction and trusting relationship with your clients," said DiPietro.

While in his first job, DiPietro learned the industry as the company installed and maintained thousands of systems, including those for many high-profile clients. Among those were culinary icon Julia Child, Lotus founder Mitch Kapor, former Bank of Boston Chairman Ira Stepanian, Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy, Data General founder Edson DeCastro, former Boston Red Sox pitcher Bob Stanley, author Michael Hammer (Re-engineering The Corporation), and Brad Delp, leader of the rock group Boston. The company also installed the system for the President's House at Tuft's University and a new system for a building to be used by the sailors at the USS Constitution. Before starting DiPietro Heating & Cooling, DiPietro earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.

Work Description: Repair Central Air Conditioner

Comments: We called Dipietro to repair our Air Conditioning system in our home. The technician misdiagnosed the problem as being a bad contactor. He did not have a replacement contactor on his truck at the time of the visit. He stated he would have to order one and return another day to install it. He stated the repair charge would be $357.14 to install the contactor, including parts and labor. We agreed to that and he required us to put down a deposit, which we did. A few days past and we did not hear from him. During that time we found out that the price of a new contactor online was about $10.00. So, we ordered one and installed it ourselves. It did not fix the problem! Our AC was still not working! So, we called Dipietro and let them know this. They had the technician call us. The technician called and left a voicemail message explaining that the next step would be to check the system for leaks, and that it would be a very expensive process. We then called another company for help. They came out and determined that the system was low on refrigerant. They added refrigerant and that got the system running great! We later added a leak sealant to the system as a precaution. The system has been running great! Dipietro claims to have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Yet, when we told them we were not satisfied, they refused to give us a full refund! Their technician is incompetent and we would not recommend them to anyone!!!

Work Description: The fix didn't work, spliced two wires and I was charged $250 dollars. $95 just to show up and $155 for the wires, he was here less than 45 minutes, I feel completely robbed. Don't bother having a salesman call about selling me a new unit. I went elsewhere and was happy.

Comments: Would not recommend to any of my friends. The technician was a nice guy and very pleasant. But not scared to overprice the job. Did it out of a book instead of time RIPOFF!!!

Work Description: Water leak working with Town Public Wirks and private contractors to determine what and where leak is.

Comments: DiPietro HAC inspected and checked area found no evidence of a leak wrote report which was presented to Town additional investigation in progress at this time.

Work Description: We had two ductless air conditioners units installed in my daughter's home.

Comments: A represenative of DiPietro came to measuer the sq. footage to be cooled. He was polite and professional. The installers knew what they were doing and went to work. They were also polite and explained what they were going to do and how to use the remotes properly. Great job, neat and tidy. They also picked up after themselves and took all the boxes with them. I recommend this company and give credit to the installers for a fine job. Completely satisfied.

Work Description: Checked out my Lennox gas furnace which was occasionally misfiring.

Comments: They diagnosed that the gas supply pressure was too low. I have contacted the gas company to change the meter.
