Comments: Costs ranged anywhere from $500 up to repair our 4 year old water heater and $1,500 up to replace. He said that he couldn’t be sure if buying parts and replacing them would ensure that the water heater would work. We called the parts company and after describing the problem, she thought the thermostat was out. She sent directions with the warranted part and we replaced it ourselves. It now works, gratefully, as we did not have that kind of money to put into the water heater!(we’re retired and on a fixed budget!)Provo UT
