Comments: The repairman who arrived was excellent He explained everything to me in an easy-to-understand way. I had been told that there was a $60 flat fee for the house call; what I was not told was that as soon as he touched the door or any part of the opener there was an additional $99 minimum repair fee. So I spent $159 to find out that the lock release handle was in the wrong position. He did also spray-lube the hinges and spring, which I appreciated, but the cost seemed excessive.
Kathy, Sorry there was a misunderstanding. A $60 service fee is charged to come out and diagnose. It does not even come close to covering our cost for service. Each call is a minumum of 2 hours regardless because we must drive to your home with a fully stocked truck. Cost of lead, insurance, truck, parts equals no real profit. The reality is most service minumums are $189 to $239 in the bay area for plumbing, HVAC, and other services.
