Comments: Mr. Pitiful Pettinelli ruined my fish pond. I needed someone to clean a mess I created when I tried to rescue the biggest beautiful goldfish caught in a potted plant the owner of the house from which I bought had put in her fish pond. The plant was placed on cinder bricks to be above the water. The fish was caught swimming through the plant with his head out of the water. I got the fish released. I tried to lift the huge pot plant out of the water but lost my grip, the pot landed upside down on the floor of the pond. I used a garden rake to retrieve the pot. I was able to remove the plant but potting soil was at the bottom of the pond. As the dirty water circulated because of the skimming water pump, the filters would get clogged and the water wouldn’t circulate. I found out I needed to remove the filters twice a day to clean the caught potting soil from the filters.I finally went online to find a pond service to help remove all that potting soil. I received two responses from “pond service”. I called both, set up an appointment to get an estimate. They both responded. The first to come was not “able” to have time. The second (The Rockford Group” responded an provided a “proposal “ via internet. I requested an itemized price list with a description of the service. He gave a price in cash or use an online service. He said he would send an updated proposal. He did send a message labeled “updated proposal” BUT it was exactly the same as he first sent, nothing was explained or itemized. I sent a second request. He never responded.
He did respond with a request to come to my house so he could be paid and he could get supplies and be sure the days he’d come will be available. I should have thought the it was pushy because it was a Saturday night. No banks or stores open.
At the end of him replacing a pump and it quits the next day. He returns to replace a wrong connector he had put on and gives me a second connector to put in a safe place in case it is needed.
In his proposal he said he would inform me if he had to replace other items. But he never told me replaced the skimmer pump that circulates the waterfall flow until he said he was through and call him if I needed to. The next day I am cleaning the filters as they would clog due to the potting soil still being circulated. It was then I saw a different skimmer pump spewing water from its connection. This was new problem with water spewing up. I called him back. I asked him why he replaced the skimmer pump because it was working when the filters were cleaned morning and night. He didn’t answer. I asked what did he do with the pump he took away as I never saw the old pump and that’s why I didn’t know it was removed. He said he gave ii to me. No, he never did that.
That is similar to what happened to my garden hose. The first day he showed up to work, he was to drain the pond to get the potting soil flushed from the water. He had a pump to remove the water but no hose to empty the water. He asked if I had a garden hose he could borrow. The hose was on the other side of the house and I brought it to him.
When he left for the day, I couldn’t find my garden hose so I texted him if he could tell me where he put my garden hose. He couldn’t.
