Work Description: Chip Seal covering over existing blacktop which was in terrible shape
Comments: The quality rating was not of their doing, but the result of my insistence. They had pulled out from this job and then came back to finish the job, in a manner that was acceptable. So the job of covering the old driveway was good. However, the job of cleaning up after themselves was not very good. The big trucks left huge ruts that required a lot of filling and smoothing out which I had to do. Poor supervision due to the owner not being present.

Work Description: Chip seal paving and side yard installation
Comments: I hired Jim's Paving for driveway and side yard work early November 2018. But the day the work was to commence Jim didn't show up, instead he sent someone else. Who refused to honor the deal that I had with Jim. I called Jim, no one picked up the phone. I told this person to call Jim, he wouldn't and said he doesn't need to talk to anybody. He kept threatening me that he will take away his workers and machinery if I don't increase the price. I had my flight to Canada and so I had no time to waste. Therefore, I wanted him to commence the work, I told him to forget doing the side yard at least get the driveway done for the price we had agreed. He said ok but he will do half the driveway not full as agreed previously upon with Jim. I couldn't accept that as it was not had agreed before. On top of that, he was loud, obnoxious and in the end he was making fun of my politeness. The neighbours came out hearing his loud voice even his own workers were standing still. I had to let him go finally. He had no respect for Jim or myself. He kept bragging about how big he is and his company, That he is the CEO and Jim is nobody but his puny employee who ran away not to face today..Thank you Netwrox. Being myself a Canadian, I can never forget this experience you provided.
