The got rid of 3 stumps, our grass lawn, leveled the backyard, made a drainage system for the yard, power washed, pulled up bushes from the side of the house, rotor tilled the ground, and mulched everything! Comments: Total rip-off! Talked a good talk but never came through. Hired him to remove some blackberry vines, some yard cleanup and replace railroad ties. What he said was a 2 day job went to almost 2 weeks and the job never finished. Some days his employee didn’t show up nor did Calvin. One excuse after another. Asked for 75% upfront on first day for materials. Then on the last day, his employee had to leave for an appt and Calvin said to pay him and that he would be back the following day to finish. Last time I saw either one. Every time I called him to find out when the job would be finished he kept saying he had the railroad ties but his truck broke down, or his kid had a doctors appt, or he was sick. Excuses, promises and lies. Overpriced and Calvin is a scam artist!Kent WA

Comments: We got our backyard completely redone by Premier Specialty Builders and are really impressed with the quality of work. We got a part of our backyard paved, our fence redone and also built a retaining wall in order to flatten our yard which had a huge slope earlier. This was some difficult terrain to work with. Calvin was very open and honest about what he planned to do with every part of the project. He walked us through all the steps in detail and we really appreciated being in the know how of what was happening. He was able to take care of all parts of the project and give us a finished look for the entire yard. He worked with us on our budget constraints as the project was huge and gave us many options to work with. He and his workers were always on time and cleaned up after their work was complete. Comments: It was a complete disaster.I agreed to 75% up front, and the 2nd day on site, Calvin asked for an advance to cover bills, crew, and materials. on his 3rd time showing up, he asked for more money. He committed to a 5 day turn time for fences impacting 4 homes, all owners have dogs. It was close to 3 weeks, and he stormed off and did not complete the agreed work. His "crew" varied each time he showed up. He committed to dates and times to be on site and did not show up. Gate locks were put in backwards, I had to secure every fence board as they started to fall off within a week from wind or touch. The staples in the boards were random, many missing, and many not into the cross beam. The prior fence and posts and concrete were not hauled away. I have several emails and voice mails with unprofessional language and threatening to come and take all the fencing out. The job site was not left in safe condition. I had to clean up beer bottles, water bottles, and other paraphernalia and move equipment and cords and fencing. I had to hire a handyman to help complete the project and haul debris away at my expense. I am still working through corrections and clean up.
