Work Description: We hired Cornelius Norwood from NORWOOD, INC. to do a bathroom remodel back in October 8th 2016, we started seeing problems right away and they said that they would fix the issue. On October 10th 2016 2 days after the work, we contacted Cornelius again due to us having problems with ceiling damage that was caused during installation. On October 30th he was also contacted due to the grout in the corners and other areas began to crack. After no response i contacted him again on November 12 2016, He stated that he would send someone out on November 19th 2016, The morning of he was a no show and stated we had to reschedule the repair. On November 21st he stated that November 26th 2016 would be a good time, tried to confirm on November 22nd with no response, tried to confirm on Friday November 25th with no answer. The morning of Saturday November 26th 2016 i contacted him at 8am, the original agreed upon date with no answer. He responded at 11:09 AM that he was under the weather and he will have another person come out later, he then stated i would have to go buy more grout to fix his initial work even though this is covered in his warranty. This person did not come until 3PM and stayed till 9PM.

On December 11th 2016 i had to contact them again due to the "fixed" work was cracking again. I was able to send them multiple pictures and videos regarding the issue. Cornelius confirmed that Saturday December 17th 2016 would be the best time. I did try to confirm on Friday December 16th 2016 and he responded with “Have to see how the weather turns out” Saturday December 17th 2016 they failed to show again for the third time. On Sunday December 19th 2016 I let him know that we have been becoming increasingly frustrated by the unprofessional resolve we have had and that the damage in the shower is causing further damage to my unit and the one below.

On December 23rd 2016 I asked for a refund on the work seeing how Norwood Inc refuses to fix the original issue and Cornelius Norwood stated hat “I will gladly give you a refund” On Wednesday January 4th 2017 I followed up again to see if he would come out to issue a refund and he stated he could send in the original person that worked on the issue to fix it. After months of trying to have this issue resolved we did not want Jose back in the house to do more bad quality work and demanded refund would be better at this point in time.

Monday January 16th 2017, we reached out again to let them know the problem was getting worse and there are 2-3 inch sections of grout now falling and missing from the wall. Cornelius asked if a fix or refund would be best, we said a refund would be the best option. Saturday January 21st 2017 he stated that he would come out tomorrow and put the refund into the system for payroll. He stated that he will not know when the refund will be generated but will keep me informed. HE was a no show on January 23rd 2017, rescheduled for January 27th 2017, again a no show. On January 28th 2017 Cornelius stated that the refund will be done by the end of the week.

February 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, was him stating he will be checking the system for the refund. On the 15th & 19th my request for an update on the refund went unanswered. On February 20th 2017 Cornelius said the following “Morning the process for an adjuster to come out and see if the company was reliable for that cause the tile. However I void that part because you didn’t want Jose to come out and fix it. Because of that company did refund right away because they need to make sure it fraudulent activity between me and you. But I was on medical leave also” His response was riddled with excuses as always.

On March 7th 2017 I asked if he was not going to initiate the refund. HE stated he would. No responses to March 17th, 18th, and 20th updates. March 24th and March 3rd was no response. On May 3rd 2017 in the last communication with them I stated “By the lack of responses it seems like you do not intend to refund as you have said you would have.”

Comments: To this date the cracked tiles, missing grout, loose fittings, ceiling damage has not been addressed and no refund has been given. This 7 months of working with Norwood Inc. I have become extremely frustrated with the unprofessionalism that Norwood Inc and Cornelius Norwood has shown. I contacted Cornelius multiple times to have this issued fixed and he has yet to come and fix or refund the issues. Looking in the shower area there are multiple areas of cracked tiles, loose fittings, bad craftsmanship, and over all amateur quality. From this point on I feel that I am not going to get the refund that they have promised. If you happen to run into Norwood Inc. or Cornelius Norwood please stay as far away as you can.
