Work Description: Bathroom

Comments: Thinking of using ASAP home remodeling with Nick Puglia? DON’T. I’ve never met or worked with a more incompetent, inept, uneducated, imbecile in my life. ASAP home remodeling he calls his business, which is ironic because he delayed our bathroom remodel 3 months and then took another 3 months to finish. He had his nephew, Dante, complete the job 97% himself and showed up maybe 3 times. When he was here it felt like dealing with a big baby. He would huff and puff and cry that he had to DO HIS JOB.

Next came the payments. Where he would tell Dante to let me know he needs to be paid, for work that wasn’t completed. He bought supplies needed where we noticed that an extra $300 was supplies FOR OTHER JOBS. Let’s not forget when he put a hole in the room adjacent to the shower and thought I wouldn’t notice. Another mistake he didn’t want to fix it.

Notice the picture below, where his “master plumbing” skills came into play. Our toilet has been backing up for the last 3 months because his master plumbing skills couldn’t properly fit a pipe. Let’s not forget I had to have someone come do the trim, put the fixtures up, tie in the vanity and do AND fix his horrible plumbing.

If it wasn’t for Dante and his phenomenal skills, this bathroom would have never been finished. It was only until I threatened Nick that he either comes and fixes the mistakes or I’ll be ripping everything out. Not to mention I kicked him out of my house twice.

Now Nick is left with no employees and probably no work because he doesn’t know how to treat people or be a decent human being. He deserves everything coming to him for what he’s not only put us through, but everyone else.

Work Description: Electric Hot Water Heater

Comments: Last fall I purchased a new electric hot water heater with installation from Nick Puglia d/b/a ASAP home servicing. I was initially very happy, but latter discovered a major problem with the installation. The water heater is located in the basement next to the HVAC heating system. The old water heater was taller and about 6-8 inches narrower in diameter than the replacement tank. Nick installed this considerably wider tank in the exact same spot as the old one. The problem was that because the new heater is wider, it was installed too close to the HVAC to allow access and removal of the air filters and electronic air cleaner cells. (How could an experienced licensed plumber not have realized that? ) This problem was only discovered several months latter when it was time to service the HVAC system this spring. He did not return several detailed telephone messages, nor did he respond to several e-mails. I had to pay another plumber to move the water heater so that the HVAC could be serviced. The new plumber also discovered another problem. The electrical connection was improper. Nick secured the wires with the old wire nuts, instead of using new ones, which resulted in a loose electrical connection. The bottom line is that I wound up paying more than double to have this tank installed. Mr Puglia fully deserves this bad review. Not only is he incompetent, he does not stand by his work. This is someone to be avoided.

Work Description: Move existing water and gas line 7ft over

Comments: If I could give zero stars I would !

Nick Puglia came out and gave me an estimation for the job, $300.00 he said and I agreed and hired him. He and his brother Sal ( Anthony) showed up 9am to do the job and shortly after they started they realized they would need to do more drilling then than initially figured. Nick stated this would be an additional 2 hours of work. I agreed and he continued. At 2 o'clock Nick said he was going to calculate the bill I assumed they near done, I said okay and I paid them $525. However at 3 o'clock they were still working, Nick left to go to another job site and Sal stayed behind and continue to work. Then 3 o'clock turned into 4 o'clock and 4 o'clock turn into 5 o'clock. I feeling nervous and confused as to why he was still here was poking around and noticed some concerns.
Having to drill/cut more than they realized and adding on 2 more hours to the job was the least of the problems on this job. Nick not only underestimated the job but overestimated their skill level.

1. There was a failure to reconnect the sink drain to the main drain, leaving me with a sink I can't use.
2. Failure to make the original washer pipes obsolete. The cold water is still hooked up therefore I can't remove the pipes from the wall and patch the wall.
3. Failure to measure correctly the hole that is now in my house for the dryer vent. I specifically stated I wanted it flush but now since the vents dont line up there needs to be flex hose. The exact opposite of what I wanted.

Well the next day came and although Sal promised to come back they did not. Instead I received a text from Nick late the next day with the audacity to tell me that in order for them to come back and fix the errors that they made he wanted to charge me $270.

I had new plumbers come instead. Told me the job is not up to code. They used 1 1/2 inch pipe and it should be two inches for the amount of water that's going through those pipes, they did not have proper trap and overall the new plumber consider the job "negligent". I ended up paying for their services as well.

So I've learned this lesson, I realize now that neither Nick nor Sal is a licensed plumber. Well they have a business license number, an LLC, they're not New Jersey Masters Plumbers. Next I will check for higher standards. OVERESTIMATED THEIR SKILLS THEN LEFT ME WITH A PROBLEM TO HAVE TO HIRE REAL PLUMBERS.
