LWi Custom Cabinets offers any type of finish, color or style you desire, whether it's traditional, rustic, or something way outside the box.
Having been in business since 2002, we have established a reputation as a quality manufacturer that will go the extra mile - or farther - to make sure your needs are met in every capacity, and particularly the finish on your cabinets.
We get requests for just about anything imaginable, whether it's the stressed wood look or a color that is way outside the norm, we'll come up with just the right finish and look. Sometimes we'll just have a small color swatch or example to work with.
LWi Custom Cabinets uses dye stains, oil based staining, and colored lacquer finishes-matching any color pallet. We also offer distressing and glazing to enhance and add character to your cabinets.
Each cabinet job is handled individually and finished using top quality pre-catalyzed lacquer products that comply with KCMA specifications. These products have been given the "green light". Cabinets arrive at your home free of all VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) keeping your new cabinets "eco friendly."
Finish Process
HAND SANDING - All surfaces are progressively sanded smooth, starting with #120 grit sandpaper, and finishing with 220 grit sandpaper.
CONDITIONING - Equalizer stain is applied to balance the base color of the wood. This is sometimes called sap staining and is the initial stain coat that is applied to diminish the contrast in wood tone between the lighter color sapwood and the darker heartwood.
STAINING - A deep penetrating stain is applied to establish consistent uniform color.
SEALER - A clear wood sealer is applied over the base stain.
SEALER SANDING - All surfaces are again hand sanded to 400 grit providing a smooth, consistent surface to accept topcoat
TONING - The application of addition color if applicable.
TOP COAT - Final application of a Pre-Catalyzed top coat lacquer is applied. This top coat is formulated to provide protection against moisture, UV fade, and household chemicals and exceeds all specifications required by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (ANSI/KCMA A161.1-1995).
We pay special attention to each job to ensure every detail is handled. We go above and beyond other finishers.
