Comments: Mr. Daye took the money my insurance company had given me for a new roof and gave me excuses for 6 months. He never even started the roof. My homeowner's insurance was going to cancel my policy because they paid me the money for the project, but it was never done. I had to pay for the new roof out of pocket. I am a 70 year old woman so this was more than upsetting to me and my family. I had also paid him for stonework on my home. It was started but was horribly, unbelievably bad and most of it fell apart. The stones didn't match and the mortar was several different colors. He kept saying he would get that taken care of - just trust him. I ended up hired an attorney and a judgment has been filed against him. It has been a year now since all of his empty promises. He had me fooled - I am a fool for trusting him. JD Construction completed a flooring job for me previously so I had trusted him to do the other projects on my home. I have received no money from him thus far. The judgment is for around $25,000.

He will take away your deposit and do not do the work and not return the deposit. He will give you a very low quote to lure you into giving him the job.

When it comes to collecting deposit from you, you will see him at your front door in a blink of eyes.

He will come up with excuses after excuses why he is not able to work on your project (ie: bad weather, etc).

In my opinion, he is not someone that you should trust (in general).

Comments: Listen to the other bad reviews about the company not returning the deposit. A very similar experience has happen to me. I hired JD Construction to do paint, tile work, siding and install a front door. We tried for months to try to get him to come to our house and finish the work. (he would schedule a date and then no call and no show) After numerous stern conversations with the owner, James Daye, about his lack of showing up to preform the work when he said they would, we finally got them to come and install the tile. The work was installed improperly and looks awful. Not only was the tile work terrible, they left trash in the middle of the yard. James came to collect his payment. We brought up our concerns and were promised the trash would be picked up and the tile would be fixed. On that promise, I foolishly paid him. So when the day arrived to fix this work and begin other projects we contracted with him, guess what - no call and no show again. So we terminated our contract and requested the deposit be returned for the remainder. This was on November of 2020. Needless to say it had been 6 months and I still have trash in my yard, awful tile and no deposit returned. We have made several attempts to work with James to get our deposit returned and every time there was an excuse to why he promised and yet failed to return it.

Comments: When I needed to replace the skirting on my home, James Daye (JD Construction) was was quick to respond. He came to my house the same day and we discussed the project. James offered some great suggestions on style and materials and gave me a very reasonable price quote on removal and replacement. The installation and painting of the new skirting went smoothly and was very professionally done. He even replaced some damaged siding at no additional cost. James is a very amiable gentleman and worked closely with me on the project, answering my questions and addressing any concerns. I would definitely recommend JD Construction and will use them again if the need arises.

Comments: My experience with JD Construction has been disappointing and shockingly negative. I have experienced poor workmanship, hostile interactions with the company owner, dishonesty, and severe lack of communication.

Over a month after contacting James to fix a very poor paint job from his team, I'm still unable to get anyone to professionally fix the issue.

Please work with a reputable contractor without the numerous terrible reviews online. We decided to work with JD Construction because they quoted us a lower price and we got what we paid for - cheap service and quality.

Comments: It is March 1st, and we are still owed thousands of dollars by JD Construction after terminating our agreement with them on 1/29/21 due to lack of progress. The owner insisted he needed $15K as a down payment to "order materials" but no materials were ever ordered. No roof, siding, or anything else was ever completed.

Over 5 weeks, they did about 4 actual days of work (a separate demo crew). Our renovation project is now 5 weeks behind schedule and they have stolen about $10K of our hard earned personal money.

I wish we had listened to the other bad reviews. DO NOT GIVE JD CONSTRUCTION ONE CENT OF YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY.

You've been warned.

Mrs. Emily Steinberg, aka Perro Vida Properties. executed a contract to commence work within seven to ten days. This contract was a final design of 4-5 different designs. Three days from contract signing Perro Vida Properties(Emily) requested a major change order. This change order effected windows, flooring, roofing, framing and cornice. We requested new design drawing for change order, never received. We began demo of property to move project forward. We demoed to studs, to include insulation(which was not contract inclusive). We coordinated HVAC installation with our main HVAC Sub at no cost. We also coordinated HVAC to frame up consultation to achieve new requested design. Contract breach was at change order request with no new design (no cost structural and build consultation). Our separation was when Mrs Emily requisition roof be installed during time of forecasted rain and we refused. Our offices are open (first week since freeze in Austin. Perro Vida Properties has been unreasonable to to work with. Beware contractors and mainly Investors. We have all receipts for work performed.

Comments: I contracted James Daye and JD Construction to remodel 2 bathrooms in my home. He came through and made recommendations and promises, wrote up a quote, and 2 days later I gave him a cashier’s check of $3,250.00. We scheduled the start of my remodel within 10 days. No call, no show. For the next 2-3 weeks, including a day when he said one employee was on the way to start demo, we kept rescheduling. Finally, I decided to go elsewhere. It took another 6 weeks of promises to get all of my deposit back which had already been spent and NO work was ever done. I would not recommend JD Construction with out firm contracts, dates, payments, and opt-out clauses. Complete waste of time. They may do good work, but not in a timely manner and not professionally. You can’t spend money for a job that was never even started, that’s theft.

Your take off(metal panel measurement) for the metal order was processed on the two days after the field operator reported in from his visit to your property(on October, 13th). Your install was scheduled for install within 10-14 days. That week had 4 of 5 days of rain and forecasted rain above 30%, which caused a setback with your project. Our new projected start and completion is this week of 9.NOV.2020, with no rain. Again, we apologize for all delays and inconveniences. We look forward to concluding your project. Comments: James Daye took our deposit and told us he would get back to us with the schedule the next Tuesday. We did not hear from him so we called him. He said he moved the meeting with his people back to Thursday an he would call us after that meeting. We did not her from him so we called him on Friday. He gave us another baloney excuse. This process continued for three weeks. It became obvious to us that Daye had no intention of scheduling the work so we demanded our money back. It took us about two weeks to get our deposit money back. Beware of this guy who is more of a scam artist than he is a contractor.

I am James Daye, with JD Construction and we signed an service agreement with Mr. Frank Armstrong to repair Sheetrock and trim. The contracted services were due to start in 10-14 days, with an attempt to pull the job into the previous week of the commitment. Mr. Armstrong had fired Black on Morning prior to hiring us because of disactisfaction with payment(conveying to us at initial conversation). There was no conversation in seven days because woe working diligently on other customers commitments. We communicated a start date the second week of start date with no response. We received a call from Mrs. Judy Armstrong on October 29th, that quickly turned from reasonable to hateful with accusation. The Armstrongs were refunded that very next Monday(100%)(November 1st. The customer was made aware via text message of mailing. She then said the the mailing was an scam, the oldest trick in the book. We stated that there were two witnesses to the contents of the package at the mailing station. All information stated information in this response is in writing. I would warns any and all Contractors beware of The Armstrongs-RUN
