Work Description: Fence/Flooring
Comments: DO NOT USE THIS GUY! HE IS A LIAR AND TAKES PEOPLE'S MONEY!He insisted on taking money up front for a fence and flooring. He never did the floor, and only with threats to turn him into Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) did he finally do the fence. He applied the money for the floor to the fence.
Get a written contract and a receipt for any money that you give him. Ensure that he signs it with his name, Matthew Peelish, and not with the company name (either Home Renovations 3 or J&M Custom. Hold his feet to the fire for timelines. He will push back and have a ton of excuses, all of which will be lies.
He lied about everything. He lied about going to my HOA and getting approval. He said he went through their Newport News office, which does not exist. He lied about his people being on their way to do the work on several occasions. He said they were loaded up and driving to Williamsburg, which they were not.
The key to working with this guy is to file a DPOR report at the first instance of impropriety. The second he makes any positive progress, you can no longer charge him with fraud.
He is a bad person, and has no problem taking people's money. I recommend Google-ing his name prior to agreeing to do any work with him.

Work Description: Build wooden privacy fence
Comments: According to DPOR Mathew peelish and home renovations 3 is unlicensed..he has a history of not telling the truth and not be being honest..he contacted me with the name home renovations but when he made up the contract he wrote J&M which I believe he maybe using someone else's licenses. But I don't know how that person and only dealt with Matt . Check out porch .com for anothwr bad review and he tried to do me the same way .Cape Charles VA

Work Description: Put a payment down of $4,708 for a fence on October 24, 2017. I have been told for over 6 months I will be getting a refund. Nothing yet.
I gave Matthew Peelish a check, #1114, for $4,708 for materials for fence. I then told him I needed to cancel the fence. He informed me he had purchased the material and would see what he could do. I then got a call back from Matthew that he sold the same fence to another customer and would be refunding my money in full. This went on and on month after month with one excuse to another. I have over 100 text messages that he was meeting me to refund the money. When he needed something from me he refunded $1,000 of the deposit from his J&M Granite account and told me he would have the rest the following week. I never got any more money and now Matthew is not making any contact to resolve at all. I now must make this a civil suit and sue Matthew, Home Renovation 3 and J&M Granite just to get my money back.

The only resolution at this point is to refund the balance or &3,704.

Work Description: Installed a vinyl Fence
Comments: First off... they were not the cheapest in town. I thought putting up a fence was not that hard so I was looking for the best price. After listening and looking at a you tube video I found that maybe I was wrong. Their price was fair and their work was the best. We now have a beautiful privacy fence and couldn't be happier. The old saying is correct....fencing does make for good neighbors we found.... The professionalism and speed of install would lead us to recommend Home Renovations 3 for any project. If they cant do it they will try to steer you in the right direction Great job... looking forward to our next project with them.Chesapeake VA

Work Description: Replace 96' of privacy fence including posts, plus new 4' gate.
Comments: I had work done by this company in October 2016 and was very pleased. The fence was well-constructed and was completed in a single day. So....called them back on June 5, 2017 to do the other half of the fence plus the gate. Unfortunately I took advantage of a $100 discount to pay in full. The fence wasn't started until the 28th of June although the demo was done on the 26th. It was finally completed on July 1st and there were many issues. Could not get the owner to come look at the fence at a time when I could be there to point out my concerns. I texted again on July 15th to let him know that not communicating with me would not make me go away and I wanted this made right. He replied that he looked at the fence and there was nothing wrong with it. I asked him when he had come by? He insists that he has done as requested, would not tell me what date he came to the house (I asked several times) and notified me that since I asked him to come he had permission by law to be on my property. His last text stated that "Sorry you feel that way. Next I will consult my lawyer." I told him to go ahead.I am currently getting estimates to replace the unsatisfactory, non-latching gate as well as several other issues that were left unresolved.

Work Description: Build a custom deck and a fence.
Comments: Can't say enough good about this company. Not only did they do a good job for the right money but they even used my drawings. Of course they put their twist on it. I am very happy with the finished deck and the fence. We would truly recommend the for any project that you might have. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves, and finished a day early. Work Description: Replaced my aging fence, plus damage from Hurricane Matthew last Fall.
Comments: At first I was very satisfied with my fence. However, the back gate is severely warped, and lock is on backwards. Contacted Matthew several times. Initially he said he would be right out to fix the problem. He never showed. Tried contacting him by calling, and texting, no answer. He's not a man of his word. Comments: Max and his crew did a great job! Very professional. The issue I have now is with the owner (Matthew). My back gate is warped, and the lock hasp was put on backwards. I have contacted him quite a few times. Initially he answered. Now he is not answering, nor returning phone calls.
