Work Description: Central A/C - Repair/Service
Comments: Technician Sam stayed for around an hour to fix diagnosed problem during the first visit. As the temperature grew hotter, the AC and condenser stopped working. The thermostat malfunctioned. It would have been good SOP to check also the thermostatat, but he did not. He should have stayed to ensure the AC, codenser and thermostat were all working before leaving.Upon my summons he came the 2nd time, with a partner. I asked how much it woukd cost to change the thermostat, and he said $175. I just paid him his service fee of $475, and said I did not have the funds to do it. I said let us observe first if the thermostat is broken.
The AC and condenser did not work, so I called Sam again. He came and fixed the AAC and condenser that were not working and replaced the thermostat for my bargained price of $150.
As I previously mentioned, SOP of staying until all units (AC, condenser and thermostat) are all working in the first visit would have done the job in one visit, saving all the time and trouble for a 2nd and 3rd visit.
Sam, though, was very nice as he communicated with me and did his work.
