Work Description: Deck, insulation and otherComments: I hired Orlando Rivera to do work both inside and outside our property. When the rails and stairs to the deck were complete, there was a gap big enough for a child to stick his whole leg through on one side of the stairs. The two boards that connected the stairs to the deck were attached only with four screws that were angled in. At our insistence, a support board was attached at the point of juncture, and the railing was modified, but not enough to pass code in most places. Supports are missing under several railings and I cannot get them to attach the end board on the deck despite numerous requests to do so.
They installed insulation under the floor and put chicken wire (both of which we furnished). I asked them several times if they covered all areas under the house that had been missing insulation and installed chicken wire and they assured me several times they had done so. When I finally crawled under the house, I discovered there was no chicken wire on 13 sections. It was only then they admitted they ran out of chicken wire. Although we bought the chicken wire, they have not returned to install it.
They continually demonstrated their lack of respect for our property by failing to clean up (throwing boards around with nails sticking out for instance) leaving trash and debris everywhere; and contaminating other property with spilled or over sprayed materials.
The worst form of disrespect is their failure to return calls and emails and promising to show up at a certain time and then not showing up then or at all.
When Orlando Rivera is working, he is continually stopping to receive telephone calls he informs us is from "rich people" begging him to come work for them. A couple times we have let him go do those jobs for a day or two and now I regret it because a job that should have taken two weeks has been going on for over a month and there is no end in sight .
They have stood my wife up for the past two days. They claim family problems, but we made it clear to them from the git-go we wanted certain work done first so we wouldn't have to put off the next phases of this project and they repeatedly ignored us. This means we have to postpone all the other workers who were scheduled to start tomorrow. Orlando continually claims "famliy problems" as excuses. We started his part of the project well in advance so that problems like "family problems' could be accommodated. Did not do us any good. Maybe because we aren't one of the "rich" clients?
