Work Description: Replaced Roof/GuttersComments: I had an entire roof replaced. I chose EZ-PHI based on a few reviews from Networx. They claimed that their workmanship is good and clean. So I gave them a try and being that their price quote was affordable and within our budget.
Overall - their workmanship skill was good on the installation part. But cleaning of debris part was fair. They had two day-labor guys cleaned/picked-up old roof shingles. They didn't even sweep or pick-up pieces of roof shingles that were on the ground and inside a small tree bush.
A few things to keep in mind, if you consider in hiring EZ-PHI to replace your roof. First, make sure that they install the materials (brand/type) that are specified in the quote/contract [I came to realize that they did not install the specified "Synthetic roof underlayment"; after they installed the #15 felt paper instead. Here's the kicker - he showed me the plastic-like tarp (5 mil) that he will use for the roof underlayment. But he switched for the cheap felt paper #15 during the installation. Then I asked him to use "Grace - Rubberized Ice & Water barrier". He (Eddie - contractor) told me that they use the same. I'll check it out when I look at the edge of the roof. Second, the Total Price of the job is clearly in agreement between you and the contractor [not that he tells you he mis-quoted the price], after he signs. Lastly, don't agree to 50% as down payment if he asks for it. Just pay him in increments each day of work [from the total cost of job]. On the quote/contract - make sure he include "30-40 yrs. workmanship guarantee/warranty". This is standard for many "Pro Roofing Companies". If he's claiming he's professional, then he should extend the same Guarantee/Warranty.
