Work Description: Faucets/Fixtures/Pipes Repair/Replace
Comments: I had a broken faucet handle for a bath tub. Eagle made an appt. for Nov. 22nd at 3PM. They arrived at 7:30PM, checked it out and said he would return at 9:30 the next morning with the parts. Someone else arrived at 3:00 PM, worked for about 90 minutes, turning water to the house off and on many times. He said there was a leaking problem. He finally said everything was OK and left - cost $460. (That is a lot of money for repairing a broken handle.) I decided to check the faucet and found the hot water handle in a different position than the shower and cold water handles. I turned the hot water on and water started running out of the shower control knob. I turned off the hot water and it started leaking water. I called the office back to let them know that we still had problems. I heard water running about 20 minutes later, and found hot water running full force into the tub. I went to the attic and turned off water to the water heater to stop the flow. We now had NO hot water to the house. I called the office and explained the situation and requested someone come back. I was informed that someone would be out first job on Monday Nov. 28th. THAT MEANT NO HOT WATER FOR 5 DAYS OVER THANKSGIVING AND THE FOLLOWING WEEKEND. A plumber came out on Monday, arriving at 12:30 PM. He replaced the part, but the hot water continued to leak. He said he would have to replace the seat base and it would cost about $350. I told him that I would NOT pay any more money for a problem that Eagle Plumbing created, as the faucet did not leak before they came to repair a broken handle. My wife went to clean the dirt in the tub left by the plumbers, but it turned out to be rust stains that she could not remove with any of our cleaners. She called the office and complained. The plumber called us back and said he would come back, clean the rust stains and bring a new replacement part, charging us only for the part and no labor charges.This is where we stand today, ONE WEEK after Eagle Plumbing arrived to repair a broken tub faucet handle.
