Work Description: Tear down of deck and pool, build new deck
Comments: I signed a contract with Rich on 4/5/2021. He tore the pool out and the deck, then left the garbage sitting in my driveway for a week. Deck was partially rebuilt after 3 weeks. Never came back to finish the work, stopped responding to texts. He was paid a total of $15,000. Part of this was for materials we never received, including railings, balustrades, and fascia. Numerous texts asking him to deliver these materials were not returned. Had another contractor fill in the hole costing us $3600. Priced the missing materials at Menards and those will be at least $3000. So far we are out $21,600 plus what we’ll have to pay to our new contractor to finish the work. Rich refused to turn over receipts for the materials. The only receipt I have is $6,500 for the deck boards. Add about $2,000 for the labor he did complete and that comes to $8,500. So I figure he owes us $6,500. He repeatedly had excuses not to show up, including it being too hot, too cold, and 3 different family emergencies. Then he said he had covid but also told me he was out of town visiting at the same time. He is a crook! Do not hire him!Carol Stream IL

Comments: Rich Hall came out, gave us an estimate, we gave him a deposit of $200.00. He was to come today to do the work, and we are unable to reach him or the company main phone number in Dekalb. Very disappointed with this site. The guy never showed up. We want our money back.-
