Work Description: Fire alarm installation
Comments: Mr. Darryl Hardy (DH) owner of DHMechanical is a FRAUDSTER. I found his business on the internet and I called him. He came almost immediately. .. my 2 old fire alarms needed replacement. and rewiring. ..he told me my circuit breaker was no good and needed replacement , too . He said it would cost me $1200.00 ( one thousand, two hundred) and that he only accepted cash (1st red flag). I asked why didn’t take credit card for that amount of money, he said he used to, but customers complained to the credit card company that, he , DH , didn’t do part of the work he charged , and he was forced to prove that he did the work, according to him ... in the end ,he wasn’t paid the full amount he was owed ( 2nd red flag) . He asked for the full amount which I gave him ( in check)and he returned the following day with an electrician who replaced and rewired the 2 fire alarms. The electrician was done and was leaving when I asked him about the circuit breaker (which was the most expensive of the work $670.00) .. To my dismay , he said the circuit breaker was fine and didn’t need any work done.( right there and then, what he, DH had said about not being paid in full by the credit card company immediately became apparent) I asked the electrician if he was working for DH , he said , no.. he has his own electric al business. I then got his card. At this point, DH , who was outside on his cell phone the whole time , came inside, unaware of what the electrician had told me. I immediately confronted him and asked for the circuit break portion of the money back, but he would not refund my money. ... , insisting that he replaced it.. but he couldn’t show any proof. I never got my money back , even after I reported him to the . BBB. . I called the electrician to find out how he knew DH, he said he met DH at a home improvement store and he, DH called and told him that he own a home that needed fire alarm replacement.. so he, the electrician thought that my house was DH’s. I deduced that DH is not a CEO with ppl working for him. But rather a con man pretending to own a business and befriending trained home professional with the insole intention of calling upon them as needed, involving them in his. fraudulent business.. Mr. Darryl Hardy of DH Mechanicals is a thief, a fraudster a Charlatan. , a mastermind of a shady business practices. His nice demeanor and courtesy belie his fraudulent, shady practices... and I would not have known that he was devious , if I wasn’t paying close attention. Please. BEWARE!!!!

Comments: I was satisfied. They came in and did the work pretty fast, were clean, and the price was competitive. I like the work.-
