Work Description: Basement Remodel
Comments: Mike, the "General Contractor" is aggressive, unprofessional and the quality of work from his subs is pretty awful. Want uneven ceilings? Failed inspections? Than this jerk is for you. He bid on a basement remodel project like he knew what he was talking about. Once he wouldn't or couldn't produce a design/plan for the basement remodel project, I should've known this was going to go south. He barely checked in or showed up on site. His subcontractor was also pissed at him because he felt abandoned. The overall timeliness of the project was blown by 3 months and he had the nerve to blame me. He did not want to finish the job, despite pre-paying for services and tried to charge me for repairs that had to be made, due to the poor workmanship his subs provided. Here are some examples: A bedroom HVAC duct was hidden in the ceiling and they were going to leave it! A laundry closet was built, however the contractor didnt measure properly and it is not big enough!! A sewage pump was just repaired, as they didnt install it properly. This caused an overflow. The drywall was horribly done and left unfinished - the sub walked off the job and never returned.This is the quality of work he and his subs provides. Nobody communicates with each other, as we learned by all the missteps and often no one was present for inspections. Three of which failed. I have incurred additional chages for repairs and inspections and am pursuing legal action to recover. Thanks Mike for all the written and verbal evidence you provided that will help me. The nasty voicemails and emails you sent me will be part of the record. See you in court!
