Comments: We have thought long and hard about writing this review, even to thinking that maybe we would not leave any and just let this go. We ultimately decided to write this because frankly, we don't want others to experience what we did. We contracted to have our bathroom done several months ago. It was to have been scheduled in "6 to 8 weeks", but they never set up anything until 10 weeks later. It is done now, but there were many issues, and much unnecessary stress.First of all, I do think we were overcharged for this job, especially when they did not even install trim at the floor where the tub bottom is. They left us with a very large gap that was not there before, and then we had to buy products and trim and do that ourselves. For that kind of money, any reputable contractor would do that, and no job is finished if you have that unsightly gap where water could get in. We had to fix it---something I have never heard of for this kind of job.
Secondly, when we pointed out the issue of the too-short tub spout, the guy should have immediately replaced it. They admit there IS an issue with that tub and a 6 inch spout, but their excuse is "we don't have one that size". A contractor remodeling a bathroom would have gotten one and just exchanged it out---no big deal. Again, we are forced to buy one, and tools to do it, and do the job ourselves. For what they charged I strongly feel these people leave a lot to be desired, and I would not hire them again.
Also, we should not have had to go through the misery and anxiety of the plumbing issue---when they left, they had NOT tested the tub, and we had low water pressure (that we never had before), and NO water would drain out of the tub! EVERY reputable contractor I have ever dealt with would have TESTED everything and checked out the plumbing/pipes before saying the job was done. We have one bathroom, and we could not take a shower for several days due to what they had done.
They also called to give us a date when the job would be done, and then they call at 4 PM the day before to say they are not coming! (We had taken everything out of the bathroom and my husband arranged to take off early from work (without pay).
Another thing is that when they came back to fix the faulty plumbing, they were supposed to come between 1 and 4---(a BIG
range), and didn't show up until 5:30. FINE, if you are running late, BUT THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT CALLING ME AND TELLING ME THEY WOULD BE LATE! Unprofessional.
I had a bad feeling about these people after a few phone calls, before they scheduled the job date and I tried to reassure myself that I was being silly. I feel I should have listened to my guts and maybe tried to get our deposit back and perhaps find another bathroom contractor.
It is done now, and I am glad it has turned out, but I feel there was a lot of BS from these people, and a lot of needless stress caused to us.
