Work Description: Clear Branch Line

Comments: In May of this year, I was referred to C Lee Plumbing Services by Home Builder. I contacted them because water was overflowing from my 2nd Floor to my 1st Floor. Some on came out on May 28th and informed me that my branch line was clogged. I was charged 285.64 to clear this line in my basement. Once this service was provided I was told that their is a 1-year guarantee on service provided.

Earlier this week I contacted C Lee Plumbing Services again because I could see that this line was clogged again and I requested that someone come out and unclog the same branch drain as before. 

On 12.11.19 Taylor Lee came out , looked at the problem and stated that the branch drain was not the issue. He continued to state the issue was actually from the Main Drain and quoted 415.00 to clear the main drain. I declined the service and paid 59.00 for the service call. Taking this information I shopped around and found another Plumbing company to clear the main line because this is what Taylor Lee from C Lee Plumbing Services stated was needed.

I contacted Sal's Heating and Cooling to clear my main drain line. Sal's Heating and Cooling sent some one out the next day. After snaking the main line drain they informed me that this was not the issue. They then proceed to investigate the issue more an found that the issue was the branch drain ( that should have been covered by my one year guarantee from C Lee Plumbing Services) and not the main drain. Sal's Heating and Cooling promptly cleared the branch line and provided an invoice that said, "Snaked the main sewer ran snake all the way out. Still holding after in the floor sink.
Found secondarycleanout located in addition. Snaked from there as well and opened up the sewer.
Recommended to the customer if problem continues to snake and camera. At this point seems to be soft
blockage. Maybe at wye."

I sent this information to C Lee Plumbing Services and was told that Sal's Heating and Cooling did not perform the Services that they stated on the invoice that they did. I was told by the Office Manager that I was being dishonest and was told that they would need someone from Sal's Heating and Cooling needed to call them. I do not know why this came up. I am not sure if it was because of a personal physical discrepancy or what. They would not call the other company. I called Sal's Heating and Cooling and they stated that as a policy they do not call other plumbing companies but agreed that they put what happened on the invoice.

In summary my issue is that over the last two days 371.12 in funds have been allocated to a service from Sal's Heating and Cooling that I was told was guaranteed for one year at no additional charge by C Lee Plumbing Services.
Thank you for your review and we appreciate your feedback. I apologize for any confusion in this matter. We did snake a branch line for you on the date on May 28, 2019 for $285.64 and gave a 1 year warranty. However when you called on December 11, 2019 it was determined that your main sewer was blocked not the branch line that was snaked 6 1/2 months prior. This determination was made when a fixture used elsewhere in the home backed up as well as the utility tub, indicating the main blockage. We informed you of the difference in the job and gave a price to snake the main drain. You declined that service stating you would rent a machine from Home Depot and handle the job yourself. You hired another company to snake your main drain which they verified was the issue and that resolved the blockage, however there was still water in the branch line. They didn’t charge you additional money to snake the branch line and indicated that there was a soft blockage at the wye. If they had charged for the branch line clearing, we would have addressed our warranty then. When a main drain blocks it is possible for waste to lay in the pipe causing blockages in other parts of the system because the waste has no flow to carry it down the pipe. This is what happened to you. Your main drain blockage is what caused the blockages in other parts of your system. Hence the main drain was the issue and not the branch line that was originally snaked. Our warranty covers only the drain that was snaked, it does not cover every drain in your home. I have reviewed all of the communications between my staff and you and determined that our policies were followed correctly and we made no errors in this case. We will honor the warranty on your branch line should that be a problem. Again I apologize for any confusion regarding this matter. Thank you again for your business.

Comments: Charged just about the same as everyone else to the job we needed done. I did my research and went with C. Lee as their reputation was good. They had to return 3 times to get the job done right, which they did. I just felt like it should have been done right the 1st time. I will say they were on top of things when things went wrong or were not completed to the owners (or my) standards. They kept on the job day after day until it was right. So you get 3 stars from me. I would do business again, I'd just be home while the work is being done to supervise.

Work Description: Basement install of Durastall shower and Kohler toilet. Repaired minor code violation with Kitchen drain stack, and washer drain. Replaced old shutoff valve that was difficult to access with a 1/4 turn ball valve. Installed 2 new valves off of existing supply lines for a future bar sink. Repaired small leak in cold water supply line close to the water heater.

Comments: Work took a total of 2 full days, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. Monday consisted of all underground piping and rough in for the fixtures, along with the repair of the small leak in the supply line. The shower was unavailable for purchase on Tuesday and so another day was scheduled at my convenience and not theirs to finish the work. Everything was finished that Saturday, (Today), and for the quoted cost. These guys are true professionals. They showed up exactly when they said they would. They called ahead 30 minutes prior each time. They cleaned up after themselves. They worked quickly, quietly, and efficiently. I will definitely go to the C. Lee Services again for any of my future plumbing needs.

Comments: First of all, Chris did complete the job. Everything works now. The problem is the exorbitant cost!

It cost us $195 to have my kitchen sink unclogged.

Other plumbers quoted us between $50 - $75 over the phone, but they didn't have any openings until later in the week.

Pros: They will answer the phone and get the job done.


Cons: They will charge 3x to 4x what other plumbers will charge.

Work Description: My hot water tank would not light. It had been operating fine. I entered my info on this site and Chris called within 5 minutes. He asked me some questions and told me to contact the manufacturer because the unit would be under warranty. Upon contacting Whirlpool, it turned out to be a minor problem and I was able to get the unit started. Chris impressed me with his honesty. He could have easily made an appointment and made money on a service call.

Comments: Honest, punctual and polite. I did not need his service this time but I will DEFINITELY call him with problems in the future. I would also highly recommend him based on his honesty.

Work Description: Toilet and shower stopped draining and became very backed up; C. Lee Services found there were roots in the drain pipe and they remove it.

Comments: Chris and Justin were very punctual and friendly, especially considering they served us on the day before Christmas Eve. We needed fast service because we were hosting our family. They were both extremely courteous, explained everything thoroughly, and even cut us a break on the price. We would highly recommend this business to anyone and everyone looking for help with plumbing and drain work.

Comments: Mr. Lee's sons came to replace my electric hot water tank. They were very polite, punctual and knowledgeable. Mr. Lee's quote was far below the other 5 quotes I received! The great thing was, after the work was finished, which was more extensive than I expected, I asked, :how much?" They said, "We quoted a price. That's the price!" Nothing was added to the original quote. I will definitely use this company again.
