Work Description: Tile work
Comments: I hired Ken Blaine of Blain Construction after a referral from Networx (referral service). Ken showed up presented himself as a licensed and insured contractor. He gave me a quote and needed 50% down to purchase materials. I gave him the deposit check which he ran through the checking account of Dara Wheatly (sp). Work began haphazardly. Ken had a million excuses as to why things weren't being completed. I came home from work to thinset all over my laminate floors, ruined carpet, ruined paint, thinset on the ceiling, thinset on the toilet seat, and poorly laid 6 tiles. I fired Ken Blaine and wrote a negative review on his referral service Networx. I got a call and they suggested that I allow Ken an opportunity to fix the project and then to make the 1 star review a 5 star review. Against my better judgement, I allowed Ken to continue. Ken left my house a disaster area. He was no call / no show three times. He took supplies that I purchased and took them to another job. He stole tools. He left work unfinished and I must now hire another contractor to complete the job. Ken Blaine is incompetent. He does not know how to lay tile, and has so damaged my home that it will cost more to repair the damage he has done to my home than for the initial price of his work.
