Work Description: Bathroom Remodel
Comments: I wish I could feel the same as the reviews posted earlier. Mr. Burns may seem like an affable, responsible contractor but by the end of our experience with him, we can only conclude that he is rude, (hanging up on customers is not generally good business practice), a careless supervisor and not a man of his word. Read on to hear more about our rather unpleasant experience w/ Brian Burns LLCWe hired Mr. Burns and Co. in September 2020 for a bathroom remodel. While we originally appreciated how hard he worked to fit our project into our budget (he was about $5 k higher than other bids) and found his crew to be very respectful and neat, once the project got underway, we were disappointed as we had many things go wrong, including having to have the shower door replaced because Mr. Burns and his foreman ordered the wrong one, even after we gave him specific information, including where to buy it and then item number. We also had issues with wrong grout being used (even after we gave him the specific color off of the samples HE provided), tile being improperly cut and installed......the list goes on, Our observation is that he actually does very little supervision of his crew once the job gets underway. Many of the mistakes could have easily been prevented if he was here every day at some point checking in on the job. We only talked w/ him if there was a problem. And by the middle of things, that became frequent.
Mr. Burns did finish the job relatively close to the timeline promised but had to come back to fix things up and re-install the CORRECT shower door, which he insisted we pay 1/2 of, even though it was HIS mistake. Because we just wanted to be done w/ him and the project, we paid him the amount of $350.00 with the understanding that we would take the wrong one and use it in another property we own.
In March, we went to install the leftover shower door, only to find that his crew had broken part of it and thrown it away and didn't tell us. We are now proud owners of a broken, useless shower door, out money, and now have to dispose of it ourselves. When my husband called Mr. Burns about this, he said he'd remove it from under our house. I also called him to state my displeasure and how important it was for us to get this removed quickly because we are in the process of selling the house, Mr. Burns got so mad at me, he hung on me. Very unprofessional, to say the least. Needless to say, he has not done the right thing and picked up his door.
All I can add is buyer beware.
