Work Description: Interior and Exterior Paint
Comments: ***BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE***I contracted ELF HOME RENOVATIONS owned by Erick Fletcher to paint the exterior and interior of my new construction home. Erick was 1st hired to paint all the exterior bricks white. Once Erick completed the exterior brick work, we offered him a chance to bid the interior, since they did a good job on the exterior brick. Once the interior was contracted that included all woodwork/cabinetry throughout, all walls, all ceilings, all closets of the home, garage, and the exterior trim work as well. Basically, every inch of the interior and the exterior trim. During the process Erick and his crew worked on different phases of the house. They started with the doors once they were “completed” they were wrapped and tucked away in the garage. After each phase we were given an invoice for amount owed and of course all pmts were delivered within 24-48 hours of the invoice. Mind you each phase was completed then wrapped in plastic, so yes we could see it was painted but couldn't see the detail work at all. As progress moved forward things started to take an extraordinary long amount of time. Guys would show up at 10 am or 10:30 then leave around 4. So after about 5 weeks apparently the house was “done” said Erick. Mind u all door jams all cabinetry was covered so we couldn’t inspect them, Erick said he will be back for “touch ups” once the house was done. After we realized that the house looked about 60 percent done we called them back to fix the project before we could finish the house with lighting plumbing fixtures and appliances. Erick came back and wasn’t pleased with the overall look of the house and told my wife and I he had fired all his workers due to my job. We expressed our concerns with Erick and he reassured us that he would handle it. He then spent the next 2 weeks “touching up” mind you this was extremely slow since it was just him at the house. He would “fix” something then have overspray all over the walls and tile floors since he failed to cover them during the touch up phase. I could tell he was in over his head so I offered to help him purchase new materials to try to keep progress going. Mind you we had paid Erick 98 percent of the bill already with amounted to around $25,000. About two days after I offered to purchase more materials Erick sent me a text quitting the job with all of our money and our house in horrible condition. After reviewing the house with other professional painters and them laughing at the quality of work we have been notified that the woodwork is so bad and do to the different products Erick used we would have to replace a lot of our cabinetry and repaint everything. Some painters wont even take on our job because they are worried that due to the damage that ELF Home Renovations did to our house it wont come out the way it should. We have also been notified it will cost more to redo the house then it cost to have it done do to the amount of work that has to be done on all woodwork all trim and walls. If you want to hire a company that promises attention to detail and a beautiful paint job, then walks off after being paid for the project leaving your home with damages amounting to over 50k then these are your guys! I truly hope this never happens to another person. Companies like this shouldn’t be trusted by the public.
