Work Description: Tree Removal/TrimmingComments: They quoted $1,400 to remove the tree limbs over my roof. They cut down the limbs and branches on June 7th. When I asked him when they would remove the debris he seemed suprised and said that he would have to rent a bin and take to the dump but it would cost extra. I gave him another check for $600. He cashed both checks but never came back to remove the debris.
I called him 8 times left voice message and texted him 6 times since then. Got no response to voice mail and only one response to text stating I'll get back to you.
It has been 4 weeks and I still have a front yard full of debris! I know I was dumb to give him a check in advance , but I can live with that mistake. I hope he can live without completing the job he was paid in good faith to do.

Work Description: Landscape Design/InstallComments: Very quick to respond but for the price charged would have liked more attention to the finishing details. I went out today and purchased 5 bags of dirt and 3 bags of mulch to finish out around the tree that he replanted for me after Hurricane Zeta.
Work Description: Tree Removal/TrimmingComments: Rickey Toles came out for the estimate and we agreed that he'd trim three trees. The people he brought out DID do that. We discussed the large removed limbs being cut into segments for firewood. That did NOT happen. All of the limbs were brought out to the road as-is, and I've been cutting the larger pieces myself slowly. We also discussed that the many dead twigs covering one tree were to be taken off, and that also did NOT happen. The equipment Rickey's team was using broke down before the twigs were dealt with, and although he said he'd be back, he hasn't been back or followed up.
In the course of the work, Rickey's team -- which as I understand it consisted entirely of contract day labor -- damaged a portable structure covering our bicycles. Instead of taking it down or asking me to do so, they just chucked it onto the yard, bending the frame.
Despite his telling me several times that he'd gone "above and beyond" and given me a great price, it seems clear enough to me that the price was average and the quality was average at best. For punctuality, how can I claim more than three stars when it's been ten days since the day the equipment broke down and he never came back?
Like I said, average work. Not bad, just sloppy. Remember to not settle the final bill until all of the work gets done.
