Work Description: Flake Garage Floor

Comments: Mike,

I have tried to get in contact with you. You said that my garage floor had 3 coats of epoxy. We constantly have Flake shedding in our garage which we track into the house. In multiple spots throughout the floor, you can see the concrete below the flake. The dirt is even staining the floor, which should never happen. My friend had another company do theirs, and the floor is a very hard enamel epoxy. Mike, please call me so we can fix this mess. I'm not sure how else to get a hold of you. Please come back and fix this mess and I will gladly take this review down.

Work Description: Incomplete Job

Comments: It is so disheartening to have to write this review, but the last thing I want is for someone else to make the mistake in trusting Mike Solano and being taken advantage of like I was. Make no mistake, run, don't walk, away from this company.

The man (because it's just him, no crew) is inherently dishonest from the start. Gave me a quote for three epoxy floors without ever measuring my rooms, which should have been the first red flag, but I trusted his judgment. BIG mistake. He then told me he needed to come out a second time to take my deposit, and THEN he decided to measure and who is surprised when the price jumped up several hundred? From here on out it was nothing but excuses after excuse. He was consistently late, always wanted the money up front before he was done (on Venmo, which, surprise, surprise, you can't dispute), was full of sob stories and also incredibly pushy, asking for referrals and assurances that I would give him a good review...nope.

The job took WEEKS longer than he estimated, and I wouldn't even complain about that if he had been on time...maybe even once. Meanwhile I had moved everything from my bedrooms and was living on a mattress in the living room while he left me in the lurch waiting on him. I get it, the job was hard and he obviously took on more than he could handle, but it is not acceptable to take someone's money and leave the job unfinished. The epoxy did not adhere to the sealant he placed on the cracks in my slab, and he said he could fix it. He texted me telling me he was on his way at 8 am, and showed up at 1 pm, saying he got stuck in a meeting. Why on earth he would try to attend a meeting when he had a job to finish at my house is beyond me. He showed up, worked for an hour, asked for more money for supplies and I haven't seen him since.

His excuse was that his kid was sick and he had to go get him from school. I understand things like that happen...but if he had shown up anywhere close to when he told me he was on his way, the work would've been over and done with long before this was an issue. He promised me he would be over the next day at 8:30, and that never happened...he is now ignoring me. An absolute scam.

The thing is, I called an other concrete company and they told me based on the age of my house alone I would NEVER be a good candidate for epoxy. Also, that they have never seen cracks like he left and they don't even know how he managed to mess the floor up like that. All in all they recommended calling the whole thing a wash and covering it with vinyl. So that is where I'm at, covering up this man's utterly incompetent mess with floor I can lay myself.

Like I said, RUN. AWAY.

(Also, he left the door open while the epoxy was wet and my cat walked in, so now I have multiple ruined items of furniture covered in epoxy footprints. Would’ve been a funny story if the whole thing hasn’t gone so poorly but now it’s just the icing on the cake.)

Work Description: Contract to pour and finish back yard patio

Comments: Mike poured a patio for me in PA in September/October 2018. The work completed was of the absolute worst quality, and he claimed multiple times he would come back to fix it. He was paid a portion of his fee and has yet to refund our money despite acknowledging the lack of quality and workmanship, stating that he knows he owes us the money, and after losing against us in PA small claim’s court. In fact, most recently, he stated he would send us a portion of the refund owed by a certain date, then completely ignored it. It is frustrating chasing a refund from a crooked contractor. If you have had success with Mike, consider yourself lucky, but I can tell you that there are quite a number of us in PA that got screwed by Mike, and I can prove it.
Well, there are multiple misstatements here, but what else is new. Lie #1. I did in fact refund $1,700, he said I refunded nothing Lie #2. I came back multiple times to try repairs. Commission #1. He fails to mention that I told him that if anything went wrong, we would have to wait till spring for me to correct it. He sent me several texts PUSHING me to continue work so he could use his OUTDOOR JACUZZI in the dead of a PA winter??!!! I informed Mr Vholmer that I will send more money when my kids are secure here, like his are there, and I will do so very soon.
