Work Description: Interior Painting
Porcelain tile installed throughout house
Starting with the paint:
We had them come in to do the entire inside of the house one color, with white on the door frames, crown molding, baseboards, etc.
There was wall paint spilled over onto the white edges throughout the house. Some rooms had the old wall color showing through the new paint. Some edges (for example around one of our cabinets) weren't painted at all. There were paint drips that had dried on the areas of the walls. Light switch covers weren't removed prior to painting, and clear brush strokes were visible around said light switches. Overall the work looked beyond amateur.
For the tile:
Hired them to do the tile in conjunction with the paint throughout the house. There were multiple tiles with severe lipping, uneven grout, discolored grout and hollow sounding tiles. When we moved the stove and refrigerator we discovered that they didn't even apply grout underneath those areas. Tile seams didn't match going from one room to the next. Door thresholds were installed in the doorways that were off center. The whole job was terrible.
When we tried to contact them to come take a look at the job we were told that they were out of town for awhile. Later when contacted they told us that they had gone out of business, and their insurance documents were in storage somewhere.
We paid for all the materials and labor.
Ultimately we had to pay for a (better) company to come in and repair the paint. We also got another (better) company to come in and redo the entire floor with luxury vinyl planking.
We definitely allowed ourselves to get taken in on this job.
