Robert Lowe is a Texan, born in Jefferson. He grew up on a farm, went to high school in Texarkana and Longview and earned his B.S at ETSU-Commerce. After college he pursued a career in education as a football coach, PE teacher and history teacher, but spending most of his time cooped up in a classroom wasn't satisfying. Growing up on the farm he'd learned to appreciate working out of doors and he developed skills which weren't needed on the gridiron, in the gym or in the classroom. He missed the opportunity to work with his hands and the satisfaction of creating things. So he put his energies into creating the business which has become Better Fences and Gates|5 Star Home Improvement.
